    Metallic Pewter
    99 Pontiac Firebird TA

    Unhappy Ram air hood installed

    Well had the hood painted and installed it today. Besides being a pain in the ass to adjust, the paint is darker on the hood then the rest of the front end. The color is Metallic Pewter. The body shop said for me to let it cure for a week, it had just been painted and the weather outside is 40 degrees, and if the color doesn't lighten up they will rematch and shoot it again. Any paint experts think there is a chance it will lighten up? Dont have pics yet, maybe tomorrow.

    MTI Clear Lid, Ported MAFS

    Any painter will tell you they can't "match" paint. The best way to get it to look right is to blend into the fenders and maybe even the doors

    I am sure they will be repainting it, I actually like the color of the hood better than the rest of the car. I just don't want to spend all that money to paint the whole thing. The paint allready on it is in great shape.
