Big Cam+Strong Springs=Big Smile
I just got my car back from Carolina Auto Masters, I had my car back in 24 hours! Awesome. He installed the 918 springs and Ti retainers, and I had installed the cam this weekend. I didn't push it with the stock springs so I didn't know what I had, but this Z28 is now one bad MOTHA. 6600 rev limit, and 4.10 gears means serious acceleration, and less shifting! I got 295/35/18 Proxes on that thing and it will positively melt them all the way through 2nd gear!
I like that old school thump when its idling too. Got to wait till next week for dyno time though, and I will try to post the dyno graph for everyone.

Hey Big D, you still got the stock tires on that SS? If so, I don't know how you get any traction in the first 3 gears, because if I am not mistaken, you got the same mods as my car, but a bigger cam. I think your car would probably make more power than mine.

That LS6 intake and ported TB is gonna put you in business Big D. You really need to get some 10.5 rims and anything above 285/35 on the back of that thing, or you will slip and slide all over the place. Those 295/35 Proxes hook pretty damn good, you might wanna try em out. Plus, they look real nice too.

I can feather it as good as can be expected. I'm gonna get 17x11's with 315/35's here in the next couple of weeks hopefully. Then maybe go with the drag radials to help with traction. I have gotta be able to get my 60 ft times down below 2.0.

Feather, I tried that without success with the stock 245/45/16's, and that was before the LS6, ported TB, and Cam. Even in second, it would start spinning, I would back off till it hooked, then hit it again, and the tires would go up in smoke again (a vicious cycle). And I mean smoke! (Gotta love that LS1 powerplant) The Proxes will spin if I am too aggressive, but if I back off those, then mash it, they hook and it feels like the front tires are coming off the ground! YEEEEHAAAAH

Ya gotta figure out a tire issue. Not too many 315's out there in a drag radial. Damn I can't wait.
