auto cross event

So my dad and I were talkin today about maybe starting an autocross event like once a month or somethin in like a parking lot of a junior college. I know here at the IN N OUT in our town all the car kids meet up on thursday nights and I just thought it might be cool if they had a place to race and keep it off the streets. Its not quite as good as a 1/4 mile but I think a lot of kids would still be interested.

My question therefore is would anyone know how to get started with this? and does this sound like a good idea?

Im thinkin about hopefully getting it sponsored by the city in some way. And maybe even have a few vendors there.

Im thinkin it could be set up so it would be like 10 bucks for 5 passes or somethin and the fastest time of the night would get some sort of prize. Maybe a gift certificate for a local shop or somethin

tss that club is no where close to me lol but i already knew about the insurance. The jc here has a huge parking lot and used to do swap meets so im thinking maybe i can get the insurance they had out there b4. (I used to sell quads at the swap meet so i knew about the insurance). And they also have 24 hr. security there so if i can use that it would be great. As far as cones and set up ...hopefully thats where city sponsorship would come in.

Unless you can yield some 10,000 attendees and make it worth their wild, ya know?

ya that kinda what im thinkin but our town is pretty small and they like to have city held activities for high school kids and college aged kids. The city is always tryin to ask high schools in the area what the kids would like them to put on so i think it might work. Maybe.....
