4l60e ?
my son has a stock 94 z and the tranny is starting to go south, slips a wot. locally its $1200.00 to get the tranny rebuilt locally.
he drives the approx 40 mi a day mostly hiway.
i was thinking of maybe a 2800 stall. will we have to get a bigger tranny cooler.
or do i just buy the stall and tell them to install it when they put the tranny back in? is that all there is to it? anyone know a good place to buy one?
also the car was optioned with gm's hiperformance rearend so it turns 2500rpms @ 70 mph. dont know what gear it has 3.73's im guessing.
he has about $1500 to spend so what do think he should do?

thanks joey i will be in touch some time this week. a good person at performabilt transmissions told me this so im confident it will work.
The plugs are the same. The lockup strategy is not. You will need to .
1-eliminate PWM on the 97 with a valve body modification.
2-Swap the 3-2 solenoid from the 94 to the 97.
Then it should work with no issue.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
75mph @ 2500rpm = 3.23 gears which are the "performance gears" for a Z28. Another way to tell is by the driveshaft: 2.73 gears = steel; 3.23 gears = aluminum. Also the drivers door (provided it's the original door) has codes for the options the car got going down the assembly line. GU2 = 2.73's; GU4 (or 5 - I forget) = 3.23's.
