2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
Filed my own tax returns today...
.. ... using TaxACT... got Five....*sigh*..... THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED AND FORTY-NINE DOLLARS!!!!! from federal. and $174 from the crappy oklahoma tax commission.
Very excited about the extra money... even after I get ahead on bills, buy the kids and wife stuff, I'll still have a couple grand to sink into the SS. Half will definately go to tires and shocks/springs. Needs it bad... but I'm not sure about the rest....we'll see. I WILL buy from one or more of our sponsors here on LS1.com, I do my best to support the guys who support our forumSam Strano, I'll be giving you a call for my suspension stuff for sure

Is TaxACT free? Most can file federal for free online now, and with direct deposit get your refund in about 10 days. If you're getting that much back I'd look at changing your W4's, why give the government an interest free loan?

Yeah, for me TaxACT is free. I went to the IRS website and found out that I can file for free since I make just under their 56k limit for free returns. They then directed me to the TaxACT website, and it was VERY easy. Of course, I only use standard deduction. I get exemptions for both my kids and my wife's little brother who we support....basically like having three kids. I don't mind giving them money since I get it all back. It kinda works like a savings account for me. I'd much rather be owed than owe them......
Oh, but they charged my 13.95 to file for state, big deal.

Let's just say I got my services done for free.... then came back and got my wife's truck serviced, also free of charge
. I took advantage of that, told him it was custom made and took weeks to obtain. He felt pretty bad, at least in front of his boss he did.
So no worries. Should I stay with the same design, or do you have any super ideas for this next fuse box cover (I'll pay for any extra work you do)

Thanks, and I know what you mean... before I had kids...I owed every year, even if I filed single with an extra amount from every check...and that was with only making between 8 and 20k a year...
Now, I still file as single, my wife files as single, and we get a bit taken out, and a bunch back. Taxes are built for families... it sucks that it screws the singles out of anything...
