Black- 2000 WS6
400hp
Im picking up a 2000 WS6 soon and have some money to spend on it. It already has a Borla Catback and High Flow Cat on it. Im looking to get around 400whp but dont really want to put heads on it. I was looking into Cam, Intake Manifold, Intake, TB, Longtubes and removing the cats....as well as a custom dyno tune. Could I see 375-400whp from this? Any recommendations on where to get it tuned? I live in Upstate NY. I was recommended by one local guy to go to the thevettedoctors in Amityville.
Why does nobody like the BBK SSI Intake either? Is it really that bad? I used to be a mustang guy and seen some make good power from them?
Thanks,
Evan

400 rwhp is not hard to achieve with a LS1 F-body. You're talking about 100HP over stock. Full bolt ons without a cam would get you near 400rwhp. With a cam 400 HP is easy.
With a 2000 WS6, I'd recommend headers with true duals, a lid, an underdrive pulley, ported & polished TB, TB coolant bypass, a cam, LS6 intake and a good tune. Those will easily get you HP up where you want it even with stock heads.
HP is not necessarily the best way to gage your performance though. ETs are a much better indication of performance. To get that kind of power to the ground you're going to need some good sticky tires, some LCAs, and SFCs. I'd also recommend sealing your hood to your airbox (or buying a sealed aftermarket system like the JAAM) and adding a 3500 stall if you're an auto.
What you should do all depends on your budget. The more you have to spend, the faster you can go...2002 WS6 Trans Am, A4, SLP lid, P&P TB, 3500 stall, 24K GVW tranny cooler, HPTuners, Pacesetter LTs, Bassani dual exhaust with 'x' crossover, coolant bypass, sealed airbox to hood.

Blazen Orange Metallic- 2006 GTO
Get full exhaust, full intake, a cam and tune, and you'll be over 400. Also, to the above poster, I think a 2000 ls1 already has the LS6 intake.

the car will be a street car and see some time at the track. It already has luk gold series and lightweight flywheel. Im going to put gears in it and axles soon. Im also looking into running some nitrous...I made a post in that section as well.
Any recommendations on headers? Do you have to drop the subframe for install? Recommendations on tuners as well...again Im in upstate NY

vett doctors is the best place to tune your ls1, go with ARH true duals/LT's, 90/90 intake manifold/tb and a tune should put you around 365-375 RWHP

theres sponsors on here or if you want call WS6store, (rather than order it online) and talk to them, they usually work out a deal with you if you call them on the phone
