I have zone alarm...I have had it for almost 2 years and no viruses yet. You don't have to go to the store to get most anti-virus software, you can just buy them online and then download them. Do some research on google and you will find some sites that list all the software with its pros and cons.
I use Avast. Its free for home users. Avast detected a virus that nortons and a few other missed when I bench tested them. Avast is a mature product, its been around for awhile. Another nice thing about Avast it does not eat up a lot of your system resources.

Ive tried Norton and it really seems to slow the computer down. Have Mcaffe now it seems to be working great!
I have said it before and I will say it again. Thank god for macs lol
Thanks for the input I will just down load one.
Quit going to Siberian porn sites.....AntiVir Free works great...
What OS are you running? Desktop/Laptop? Wireless? More than one cpu on your network?
Exactly, thats another reason why I am glad not that many pple use macs. I just like the OS much better then macs. I have 4 laptops in my room and I have 3 different OSs. I have windows XP, mac, and linux. By far I like macs the best then linux and then windows.
I hate McAffee... i would go for something free
For military guys: Did you guys know that if you have a .mil email account you can get free symantec and mcaffee software? And you can get office pro 2007 and ofice pro XP full versions for free??
Ill post the link when i get to work
Or even better dont waste the money on A/V dont run one. Just check your PC with sophos from time to time.
got trend micro on mine and everyone else's in the family (trend micro was formerly PCcillin)
I prefer Norton over McAfee. I know someone who was renewing McAfee and it didn't work....dealing with their customer service in India sucked the big one! Finally had to call the credit card company to get a refund on it. If you never have to talk to em, you might be ok.
