Well ever race is different, however i have taken 7 ls2 Gtos now. I have not lost to a GTO that is stock, i have raced 3 with exhaust and they all lost aswell. I am a m6 some were m6s some were autos but they all lost.

Id say drivers race and from my experience the edge goin towards the camaro, i have been unimpressed with ls2 GTOs
i had an ls1 04 gto fall behind me 2 cars from 0-80 or so.....i was fuckin impressed he kept up that well...mods of the gto are unknown but it looked/sounded stock....weird shit...i should of burried him.......took a z06 by about 1.5 cars from 70-110 ...lol...dosnt make sense

I mean i race a mildly cammed 04 GTO and he had exhaust, said he made 370rwhp and i made about 340 and i won by about half a car. So if you cant beat a stock one lol.
Well I have never lost to a stock F-body nor one with even the same mods, and I too are an M-6, these guys are racing from a roll, it points towards the GTO winning, especially if second gear scratch misses a shift or shifts slow(assuming he's the M-6).
