1.This happened on my first date in college.
date gets in my car, I start it up and drive off. A min later she says " I hate loud cars that aren't fast." I just ignore her and try to have a sense of understanding because I can get why a girl may not like a loud car.
After the date on the drive back I pull up next to a blue 350z with a body kit and massive spoiler. Date says "man don't you wish you had that?" At this point I'm genuinely annoyed, so I look over at the guy and give a little rev, he returns the favor. Light turns green and we both go WOT, I get about a car on him @ 70mph and turn it off. She then says "well that was unexpected." Needless to say that was the last time I talked to her lol.
2. I'm at a performance shop here in arlington (gearheads) about to get gears installed. I'm talking to the owner of the shop when the dude who's going to be working on my rear comes out from the garage area to the front. He sees my maro and asks what i've got done to my firebird.....at this point i'm scared for my rear, and I'm just giving the employee a blank stare. The owner turns to the guy and goes dude....It's a camaro. Thankfully nothing went wrong with the install lol.
3. I'm at an autozone looking for an k&n filter, can't find the right one so I go to ask an employee. He asks for make and model and I tell him it's a z28 camaro. Then he says "V6 right?" Really dude? You work at a freaking auto parts store.
4. First day i got my car my mom comes out to look at it. She looks at it and then asks my dad "what did you say it was honey? A Camry?" Me: "yes mom it's a camry." My brother starts laughing hysterically lol.

It happend to me too that I go to the auto parts and I say z28 and they come up with parts fir the 3.8 motor lol
Instead of gettin mad I just laugh.
Or the day I went to the smog check some guy got there sayin that it was a nice car from "ford"
Cuz it kinda look like the mustang.

I'm sitting at a local tire shop, getting tires 4 my daily driver, ( 97 gtp) and a 2010 SS pulls up. Natually I step out side to investagate and talk to the owner. I comment on the LS3 and he's like, I don no, it's a V8,,,I think. Some people just aren't car people. I feel soo sorry 4 the fate of that poor SS.

Didn't happen to me but to a friend. He has (among other cars) a 77 Porsch 911 Turbo that he bought new in Germany when he was stationed there and brought it back when he rotated.
A couple of years ago while doing the Bi-Annual smog check to keep it registered, the kid doing the check opens the trunk and asks, "Is this thing electric? Where's the engine?" My buddy calmly answered, "Yeah, it's electric..."

Me: I need 2 Bosch 13111's
Advance Auto Parts Counter Dude: I've got 1
Me: Can you cross reference to see if there's anything else? I need the longer wired sensor.
AAPCD: What's it for
Me: 2000 Camaro but run it on the same year Corvette
AAPCD: They have the same engine though
Me: The exhaust is set up different and the Corvette ones have a longer wiring harness. I have longtube headers and need a longer wire to reach the sensor hole.
AAPCD: But they have the same engine

So im at a bar with some friends and some friends of friends. We start talking about car and this girl jumps in and say " camaro's arent fast they're just loud. My boyfriends 99 mustang is fast". I ask her whats done. Her- " I think exhaust and something K&N". I ask her if he wants to race. She asks me what i have. I point and go that red SS is my car. Here's the best part.... looks at me and gose " I heard that car pull in. It sounds mean. What all is done to it?" LS2 and some bolt-ons. She gose whats that? LOL. I told her to ask her bf.
At a local car meet a kid asked me what I'm driving now. I tell him I got out of the honda game along time ago, and i said to him "I'm drivin that now" as i point to my z28 with lip kit. he then says "oh wow u bought a corvette!!" Im like hahaa dude I wish. its just a camaro. as we approached the car closer up he then noticed it was a camaro and was like "wow dude u really got out of the honda game" lol
What is with girls arguing about the performance of a Mustang being greater? I hear it all the time when I'm out and talking cars with a group of people. Is it that there is just more Mustangs on the road so that's all they're accustomed to? I used to argue back, but now I just keep my mouth shut, it's not worth the wasted breath.
