dealership advertising.

What gives the dealers a right to advertise on your car?

My fathers SUV for example.

I bought him a license plate frame that said " I rather be fishing" (because he loves to fish.

So his 4x4 broke and he brought the car to the dealer in NJ for warranty, the local one here closed down. That was 2 months ago. Today I noticed the dealers own license plate frame on it. They took the one I put on with their own. Sure it only cost me $10 for the frame originally, but WTF gives them the right to throw mine out and put their name on it.

WTF?

I'd go back there, toss that POS at them and demand they return yours or buy you another one.

that's the thing, they are in another state. it will cost me over $20 one way to demand they pay for a $10 frame.

They have no right - at all.

I bought a brand new TA back in '94 and they had their decal on it - I made them take it off.

Yes no free advertising on my rides.... I think it looks crappy.

that is complete BS on the part of the dealer for warranty work! i would complain

anytime I buy a new vehicle that has a dealer sticker or frame on it, i tell the dealer

"either pay me $100 month to advertise for your dealership, or remove the sticker and license plate frame before I drive the vehicle home"


every time the dealers remove the stickers!!!

Worth it to me, I have more time and a fair bit of money, I would do it for the fun.

i worked for a dealership a few years back. i was always supposed to make the customer happy by getting their car cleaned up for delivery. well one customer came in back and asked me to take off the dealership name but leave the little flag on the car. i did it for them and they were happy. the owner came back and chewed me a new one and literally told me that he didn't give a fuck what the customer wanted and made me put the logo back on there as he stood there. when the customer saw it five minutes later they demanded to know why it was on there and i told them the truth and they weren't happy. the husband went and yelled at my boss and i happily took the logo back off the car. i avoided the owner for a few days after that as he claimed that he was going to fire me for the whole thing. he never did. he was a little bitch. he's out of business now.

I always peel the sticker off while the cars hot and then hand them the little scraps. They just stare like you're retarded

My car doesn't have a decal and I like it like that. Dealer is outta business anyway.

i took my dealership tramp stamp off the day i bought the car. and the detailing shop that i first brought it to put two stickers on either corner of my back window(like by the sail panel) i made them take it off. it pissed me off and they didnt do a good job anyways.

We bought a new Altima back in February and it has the dealer license plate frame and (I think) sticker on the back. Do you think they'll respond if I send them a bill for advertisement for the past 10 months? Maybe I should wait until this Feb. so I can bill for the year.

Anyone got any ideas on how the bill look and what it should say?

The dealer I use to work at actually would ask the customer if they would like the sticker or the liceanse plate frame on their car. if they said yes they would knock some money off the total cost of the car. That I think is why the guy owns 5 dealerships,because he does work with the customer. His service manager just sucked bawls :lol:

My parents car was a ford car on a dodge lot. They put a dodge dealership liscense frame on the ford car. My dad said take it off before he bought it but they wouldn't. He then bought a chrome frame for it, and painted it a translucent almost candy blue(model car paint) it looks fuggin awesome!!

I can see if theres no frame or another dealer... but to take off a personal plate frame is just wrong. It's like stealing your cd or something else from the car.

depends is it one of those cheap sticker badges or one of those plastic plaque badges? I would go 5 bucks on the plaque type, that adhesive is a bitch to get off.
