...well to give you an idea. i bought mine a year ago non-ram air with 111k mi for 7 grand and i thought it was a steel.
I would say as long as it not beat up to hell or owned by a 17yr old sounds good.
A4 or M6?
Did the current owner do regular maintenance? Is the body and interior in good shape? Did you find out if anything is wrong with it? Sounds like a good deal.......if everything checks out.
Run a Carfax for sure. When I was first looking to buy mine, I ran across one that was a super good deal. Called the guy up and asked all the normal questions and also asked if the title was clean. Turns out it was salvaged. Now don't get me wrong, I worked at a shop for years and if the car is rebuilt correctly, there's nothing to worry about.................except resale. It's just too hard to sell them when they are stamped salvage.
My .02
If everything seems ok with the car, sounds like a pretty good deal.
Well, I have officially joined the fam:burnout: 1999 White bird a4 ws6 @ $7200 otd w/101505 on it. Pics to come soon and I still dont know what pipes are on it cuz the dealer didnt know but i'd say magnaflow:think:http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/i/2318...der=1&size=600

sweet man . . i think you got a pretty good deal especially gettin it from a dealer . . . get pics up soon
i thought it had 98***mi
over 100k:faint: not worth it take it back lol
good buy, lets see some titties...sry i mean pics of the car lol 'wrong thread'
At least u get to buy a car with a Raptor hood already on it. I had to have city workers accidentally drop a damn tree on my TAs hood to get one lol.
I really wanted the regular Ram Air hood, but for the price in this area I couldn't beat it. A ws.6 a4 for like $90 every 2 weeks....I thought about it for a day then jumped on it cuz I didn't want it to be gone the next time I went past :yup: To think...I called just to get a price and I really didn't plan on buyin a car:)
My a4 02 Grand Am GT was "safe power", but when I got this thing on the open highway I think I almost suffered whiplash :nana:. This car is one hell of a rush!!!!
mine is a 98 with 99,000 miles exactly....bought it with 94xxx for 7500
is anyone having issues with the higher mileage? What are the standard repairs? I am in a similar situation trying to find my own TA...
Good Buy!
But is it a Real WS6 ?
Check the driver door for the RPO Sheet.
And if it is a real WS6 Why does it have a Raptor Hood on it instead of the Factory Ram Air Hood ?
Just Curious,
Buy it! I've got 130,000 on mine and she purrs like a kitten and roars like a lion. This could be a great project car for you. If your planning to put some modes, it doesn't matter on the miles as long as you compliment your modifications with the essentials to run strong.
I paid 20k for a bone 2002 auto WS6 with only 3,000 miles on it, it still smells like a new car and is in mint condition.
Pics of various mentioned cars please!
WS7 is just a badge that means nothing No ofense to anyone that has one but IMO why advertise something that doesn'r exist.
I don't wish to sound like an Ass but I have a Factory Ram Air Hood and have never tried to pass my car off as a WS6. I have a better suspension Wheels and exhaust set up than a WS6 anyway. I choose to not misrepresent what my car is only becauseI feel it brings down the Hobby and other F-body owners.
I understand that
WS7 is a legitimate RPO but NOT for the 4th gens.
Too Me a true Clone would have a WS6 Badge which I wouldn't have a Problem with as long as the Seller doesn't misrepresent the car.
Obviously this kind of thing happens too many times though and like I said diminishes our Hobby.
People can do what they want,.... I'm just voicing my opinion.
I wanna see someone get pissed that someone else has a WS6 badge on their clone lol. IMO, the WS6 is pointless unless u keep the car stock or very mildly modded, not touching any of the parts ASC put on there or really just want to tell everyone u have a WS6. Other than that... waste of money IMO.
your out of your mind.. even after you do a complete drag setup and drop a 408 in it, to both a regular ta and the ws6... the ws6 model is still faster......... what the hell are you on dude...?:Owned:
:jk: i think its a waste of money too.. pay 2-3k less and buy a 500$ hood and a 50$ badge and put it on there if you want the appearance..
No PICs yet????
I missed that....We have some type of filter at work that blocks it.
Anyone know what a WS6 hood costs?
Varies. If you want an oem, buy from somebody. I got mine off of a ws6 on craigslist for $500 which matched my paint. Didn't have to worry about color matching. Can't speak for the aftermarket replicas, although there are some very nice ones.
Cost me $400.00 for an oem hood from 1 of these forums and $1500. to have it installed and repainted and then the whole front of my car was recleared. They did a great job and it looks original.
Yeah, I would have checked the RPO first, haha. I personally don't like raptor hoods, but I wouldn't see the reason on getting it and not keeping the WS6 hood and then putting the WS6 back on for resale unless something happened to the WS6 hood. Look for three RPO codes : WS9, Y82, and WS6 for a Trans Am WS6.
...didn't check to see if this was more then a one page thread. Haha, sorry.
from what I understand these LS1 engines were built to last, I believe GM did a real quality job on them especially being it was the same engine in their top of the line vette's back in the day, I just stored mine today, Minnesota winters suck! when I parked her for the season the milage hit 99,700 :( 'im second owner and bought it with 40,000 some miles about 5 years ago and really the only maintance I have ever really had to do was new tires and I have had oil and coolant leaks i have had to fix but thats about it, oh and they do get a little squeaky and creaky with age but what do ya expect they are f-bodys LoL -Jason
