Not sure about the laws in your state but see if you can take a driver's improvement course to reduce your fine and avoid points on your license.
Go to court talk to the prosecuter. If this is your first ticket ever, they will more then likely be willing to put it on probation for 6 months or a year and that way it won't go on your record.
shit..... how much was it?
Another thing you can try is I believe called Deferment (sp?). I did once along time back. The way it worked then was .. First ticket basically got suspended. Did NOT show on the insurance or your driving record, for a set time, say 1 yr. BUT if you got yanked over again, You gettin reamed... I don't know about your states statutes, but it should be worth looking into. Ya never know.
Oh man, thats gonna hurt big time!!! Sorry dude!
BTW, if this was in SE MI..... where abouts so I dont get popped!
south haven....bluestar highway....f-ing female cop too....
you think that sucks ( thread jack )
i got pulled over for 90 in the 65. the fucker didnt even clock me he took a guess.and it was at night. so i got a ticket and i got another for reckless driving. it came out to like 500 so i talked to my dad and he said he will just get our lawyer to take care of it. i gave the money to my dad and he never called the lawyer. so i get a letter in the mail saying i missed my court date. and then i get a letter from DPS saying my license renewal didn't go threw. so now im stuck with this big case.
i guess the moral is if you want something done right do it your self
20 over and your first offense????? i think your going a lil over board here.......first off my insurance company has NEEEEEEEEEEVER found out about any ticket of mine ( state farm) 2nd being your first offense the judge will VERY likely lower the ticket to a non moving violation meaning a fine of 100 or more and 0 points on your license...3rd 20 over isnt 6 points.....21 over is...20 over is 4 points .....been pulled over doing 92 in a 55 once.....cop wrote me for an 1110A....failure to obey a traffic control device.....man i got lucky :D.......if u were to switch insurance companys or change your coverage in the next 3 years.......then they WILL find out and your insurance will go up....just take the safety course and go to court with proof u took it...........youll be fine
Unfortunately, they do. Your attitude right there proves it. A LEO is a LEO. Doing a thankless, low pay, high risk job. When some jack ass is busting into your house and just your lady is there, I Guarantee you wont give a shit what gender the LEO is that arrives with gun in hand to defend what's yours and your loved ones, at least... I hope you don't. I have LEO's in my family, have been around a few I can say and they come in two varieties.. Just like regular peeps. One's that do the job the best they can, and one's that have issues. Sorta like where you work (and I). Not busting on ya man, but seriously, does anyone in this day and age think that because they have breasts they can't think, react, or see their duty clearly.
It's proven that women have inherently steadier, more defined hand to eye co-ordination...let alone a deeper protection instinct.. And no testoserone to make their judgement muddled... Just a thought.
Last ticket I got, I went to court and received probation before judgment, paid a $30 court fee and was done.
that's not what I meant at all when I mention she was female, hell she did her job, she caught me speeding and pulled me over.....actually she was prob nicer than what a male cop would have, I was just silghty pissed off and it kinda rubed me the wrong way...it happend, I'm over it, I'm still driving my car, it's all good
Hold on a sec, I have the utmost respect for LEO's and have had family, in-laws, friends and good acquaintances in that field of work (some male and some female).
I am not at all questioning the capability of a female officer nor mean to lessen the magnitude of what they do. All I'm saying is from my own observation there are MORE female officers that have a hard ass attitude when it may or may not be appropriate. For that reason a lot of times you are more likely to get a ticket from a female LEO and they aren't likely to give you a break.
Oh, I am NOT disagreeing with you man. I am simply saying that your original observation that they feel they have something to prove is correct. Your statement is entirely valid. They do have to prove themselves due to chauvinism (sexists attitudes). I think it's crazy that bullshit continues in the 21st Century. I guess I should have stated that more clearly, I got up on my soapbox because I have family on the force and hear the other side of it.. <end rant> Hope that clears my original intent abit.
