just wanted to say it...because im so fucking proud of it
i appreciate having my car every time i drive it. I think its one of the greatest things ever :nana:
I don't get to drive mine often, but when I do.....Oh man....Not much else that even comes close to the feeling.
i have a DD [89 topaz] and the Phoenix is hibertnating right now. I miss it more everyday i can't drive it. Having a DD really makes you respect the ls1 so much more
Just took mine out for a nice romp through the mountains yesterday. I can't believe after 10 years it still runs and looks better than new. ;-)
However, I hate those stupid Mustangs that tailgate me and cause problems for others trying to keep up with me. Or for that matter, any crazy that is tailgating me and expecting me to do 10-20+ over.
I make sane moves and give lots of room. When those kids in Mustangs try to keep up they make the situation dangerous. Half the time I'm just getting on it a bit. When I start they are no where around ..... Then low and behold up they come at full throttle to challenge right on my bumper. I just slow down and wave them by. I don't encourage street racing.
It was pretty bad yesterday. First a guy in a Mustang tried to squeeze between me and a truck on a merge at full throttle I think. He slammed on his brakes and almost got the rear of me and the rear of himself. Luckly the trucker was watching and slammed on his brakes as well. No where to go half car length in front of me because I saw this coming. Whew.... Then, a guy in a Camary was pushing me 10 over in a construction zone. I mean like 18" off the bumper. So, I slowed down and pulled off the road for him. I never do that but, he was making me really nervous and I envisioned a rear end coming. The last rear end / accident I've had was over 10 years ago now. But, it was such a pain in @$$ to get the car fixed just right. They screwed up other stuff during the process. Doh !!!! No one wins in an accident.
I don't get this in all my cars. But, whenever I'm in a sports car having some fun. Some idiot want to race on the street. I always hope there isn't some cop around taking this as a exhibition of speed contest. I'm just hitting the gas a little for the torque feel and those racer boy types show up. I don't want one of those tickets again.
I'll race at the track anytime .... Safe and sane is the name of the game.
I know there are those that would say: Hey, look at that old guy with that powerful car. Ashame he doesn't know how to drive. I say, there is a place and a time and in traffic your looking for something to hit.
I think bang for the buck, our cars rock !! Can hardly wait to get it into the country and romp on it at times. ;-) Just some thoughts thrown out .......
Thanks for sharing! Nobody likes it when a mid-90's Tahoe wants to race you, or the obnoxious Honda who just won't go away. But it's the moments when you literally stop traffic with your exhaust, when you get a thumbs-up from random people, and when you go to the track and get that timeslip you've been waiting so long for! :yup:
I hate when I'm in my '97 Malibu driving around town and I see a ricer or a Mustang trying to be all bad-ass. It's those times that I really miss being in my T/A. Such an amazing car and I love it to death.
I miss my car so much! It just sits in the garage during these months. But i also feel like when im driving my DD i ALWAYS see cars that id like to run with or even just throw a rev at and when im in the T/A they are no where to be found. There is no better feeling then getting out at the gas station and having some one compliment the car or come talk to you about it.
I can't tell you how proud I am of my Trans Am. Always gets looks from envious people. It's like an extension of my falis. To all my friends and family, they all know me as being all about Trans Am.
no im not pround of my trans am all it does is call me prblems.. after headlights.. parking lights.. blew up my trans.. suspetion proplems.. and now i messed somthin up in the rea im sellin that piece and gettin hopfully a good one next time..
Yeah, must have got a lemon or a victim of flood unless you bought it new. Sorry you've had so many problems. Most T/A owners don't have those problems. Try getting another one just to see.
im on my third bird the first one tranny went out at 174000mi problem free till then 2nd one 02 ta 100,000 mi problem free sold it and my hawk is trouble free so far. i didnt nor havnt had head light problems. just givem luv and the'll keep turnin heads...
Anymore, a Trans Am or Camaro on the street is like a shark in family resort waters. Ah, it's great to be the shark.
My GF has an 02...she has the exact car I've always wanted but couldn't bring myself to buy. That car is tight but I ended droppin an LS1 in my Blazer instead..hehe. Racing her is fun as hell tho!

Yeah it was truly great driving a Trans Am. Boy do I miss mine :(
My degree comes before my car however, enjoy your cars if you got em!
everyday when i drive to work, i have a hard time believing that i own a trans am. its simply amazing.
Dang, I guess I'm not the only one who feels bad as hell driving a T/A.
LOL. I'm always trying to get in formation with them to make it look even more bad ass
That's awesome dude! I wish more hot chicks would get an f-body. I see a gorgeous girl drivin a silver Ws6 by me every now and again, but she's always goin the other way  I'd like to see her fuelin up or at the grocery store or somethin, just to say what's up, and maybe go for a cruise. Unfortunately, I love my girlfriend haha, so anything else would be outta the equation :ughlaugh:
The old saying comes to mind: Why go out for hamburger when I have steak at home?
Boy! I know what you mean! I currently own 2 4th Gen TA with one having continous part replacement and engine problems. Cost wise it's a killer to maintain. Too bad nothing last forever. I guess it's the luck of the draw when it comes to ownership. Some vehicle just have fewer problems than others. :shitstorm:
I love mine too. Driving this 4cyl DD through the winter is killing me!! I'll never forget the first time I pulled into a gas station with it. There were 3 women in some import 'vert at the next pump and when one of them walked over to look at my car, the other two got out and came over too. They complimented the car and stood there talking to me about it for so long that my wife in a very loud and annoyed voice told me that we needed to get going.
I didn't even have mine for a full 3 hours and i got a speeding ticket. A total of two within one week to be exact. I've owned bikes as well (gixxer 600, 750) and i must say this car by far is the best out of all my toys and safer of course. It's only suppose to be a weekend car, but my wife loves it so much she drives it when i'm at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my god.. I haven't posted in forever.. but wow, I'm still loving my WS6. Sadly it couldn't be garaged for the winter, so it routinely gets covered in ice and snow... but... I've been driving her.. hard to resist!
