iv never had a problem with my stockers..
dont touch the bulb when you install them and use that electrical goo
I've heard of this on the silver stars. That's the main reason I haven't upgrade to them yet. I just went with a higher output light and didn't spend the extra on the silver star as some were having problems a couple years back with them.
Plus, if you are in wet weather make sure the housing is all sealed up with high temp silicone so that water doesn't get in there and cause a temp difference and pop !!! My .02
However, the dielectric grease is needed as well.... mentioned in this thread.
i have not tuched the bulbs i know that the oils from u fingers will make em blow.... and my stock ones never poped and i had them for like .. but i didnt like the dim light ... i think im going to try a diffrent buld like some thing not as hot like cool blue or some thing.. i might stick my stock ones back in not sure yeat ... i ran silverstars on my 95 firetird and i poped a few till i leaned to trun the light off lil bit b4 i put the lights down
hmm. . . dont know. im running pilot xenon's from autozone . . definately brighter and whiter than stock . you may try them
im geting ready to go now and get some thing.... i hate changeing them my hands are to big i always get my hand stuck on the driver side
lol i know not much room . . . good luck!
i just put dull ones in... if they go out then thers some thing wrong in the wiring .. thanks for ur guys input
I'm running Silverstars with no problems. If you're not touching the bulbs I'd bet their is a sealing issue and they are getting damp.
i ran silverstar headlights in my truck for bout 3 years and only blew like 2 bulbs in that time.
I've blown a couple of silverstars. No moisture in there, and I haven't touched them. It happens if I turn them off with the fog light switch. If I leave that switch on they don't blow.
nope i left them on ... i have done any thing i can think of ... i even tested the system and im not geting to much amps .... i m giving up with silver stars my under standing is that they run to hot and brun them self out
great i dont know what to do now. I want to get silverstars but now i'm having second thoughts. Maybe I'll try the pilot xenons. Is it hard to change the bulbs?
Does anybody know of anybody specific that sells LED stock replacements for our cars? For fog lights, but including all the other lights too. Rear turn signals, DRL's, and all that. Halo's Lights? like the guy off of ws7.se
What size are the silverstars we need for the fogs and headlights?
its a 880 ... so it would be a 880 silver star they run 20 buck each ... i had 4 sets and they all went bad.... dont get silver stars !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its a payn in the a$$ to replace the fog lights as is but when u make it a bi weekly task it sucks even more
pilots xenons are 15 bucks for the pair
If anyone has no idea on how to change there bulb... use this site http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/fogs.htm it's a Z28 I know... but they are F-body just like T/A's so this will work aside from minor camaro details...
i have this problem with one of mine . i will put a new one in . it will last a month or so and then its done . i think its getting wet . i'm not sure whats going on .
any help would be nice
