I have heard from the machine shop I use and some family members, If you change the cam you absolutly have to reprogram the ECU, It will not run on a cam bigger than stock, also the program is 400$ plus tuning. So thats why im sticking to stock cam till I have the funds to upgrade the ecu,cam and heads all at the same time.
My machine shop said they can built a 383 stroker, with a good cam upgrade, stock heads worked, ported/ polished, titanium springs,retainer, headers, just basic bolt on's and it dynoed at 365WHP tuned and got 26mpg.
SO Its not going to be hard getting the power, but getting the ECU to like the power will be the hard part. Damn electronics are expensive!!!!!
