I failed. :(
290pts 58%
that was a harder test than I thought it would be.
I will take it later and see how I measure.
84%
I feel stupid for scoring that low.... I know one or 2 questions I botched... but 8?!?!
tooo long.......
87%, woot physics class!
damn I have fallen to 2nd place
psssssh what do I care, people are gonna start making numbers up without even clicking the link.
I got 80% (400 points). Not terrible, but not great either.
It'd be nice to know which ones I missed.
I'm at work and quite distracted so I didn't really put a whole lot of thought into all of them. Still got 78%.
i got to the end and it froze or something fuckin gay im pissed.
^ that sucks big time
i used to work with the creator of that website lol
awefull long test but scored an 78% didn't stop and do the math. "Shot from the hip" on those questions.
Now Im gonna make my 12 yo take it. Hope he doesnt embarass anyone.
i went through question 6 and decided i didnt give a fuck.
took it again and got a 70% much better from before...still fail though :(
I made a 72%....i want my girlfriend to take this..if she gets a 100% im breaking up with her
How many times did you take it?
I took it twice, first time I just skimmed through it without much thought and got an 86 I think. Then decided to take it again about an hour later when I saw the thread again, and took my time on it.
BTW, I'm an A.S.E. L1 Master tech, Land Rover Certified Tech, graduated from an Automotive/Diesel Tech school in '94, and been working on cars for a living since I was 18..... So I've taken many various simular tests thoughout the years. ;)
the one I missed, and I don't agree with is #48
"In a naturally aspirated, four cycle engine, air enters the cylinder during the intake stroke _______."
A. Because of gravity
B. From the suction caused by the piston going down
C. From atmospheric pressure pushing it in
D. Because of compression
They say the answer is C!???? wtf?
the piston moving down is creating negative air pressure or vacuum. we can't have negative air pressure, so a charge of gas and air comes rushing into the cylinder, By the time the piston arrives at BDC, the air pressure inside the cylinder is equal to the air pressure outside the engine.
so to me, it is a result of both B and C. it's one of those questions that you see on ASE tests sometimes, where 2 answers CAN be correct...but I'm no scientist.
I got that one wrong too. There was a bunch I had to guess sizes of the gears and things on. They looked different than what the really were.
ahhh, now you tell me. I thought it was more on the physical size. I guess that makes sense then.
I got 80%. Pretty sure I botched almost all of the electrical questions. Otherwise, I'm confident.
Sort of a trick question but suction is like dark or cold. It doesnt exist, its the lack of something. (Lack of pressure, abscence of light or heat) Sort of like your gf sucking you, its the lack of something (brains) allowing a higher pressure (yours) to fill the empty space. Simple
82%. I am ok with the passing grade.
All the gears were 10 or 20 teeth if I remember correctly...the electrical questions were like beginner beginner beginner questions to. All of it was very simple math. I got worried on that one with the fulcrum and lever where the one weight was far to the left. I got a box afterwards that said, CORRECT!!!, and I thought, hmmm...this is like #31 and I have not got that box all quiz. SHIT!
Seriously though...if you have ever took physics or physical science, you do not even need a calculator for this test.
"In a naturally aspirated, four cycle engine, air enters the cylinder during the intake stroke _______."
A. Because of gravity
B. From the suction caused by the piston going down
C. From atmospheric pressure pushing it in
D. Because of compression
Air moves from areas of high pressure to low pressure...everyone knows that!
i got an 80:shrug:
The answer was C because, in a standard automotive definition, "suction" does not exsist. There is simply degrees of pressure, the lowest being an absolute vacuum... there is no negitive. So yea, higher pressure equalizes to lower pressure.
But yea, its bullshit, because suction MEANS what happens when a high pressure and a low pressure interact.
I got an 88% but i would have answered the one question about the 4 cyl. engine wrong but since you guys were talkin about it i picked the right answer...
I got a 90. I think the one with the multiple pulleys did me in. Most of that was just common sense/experience, I think maybe the older you are, the better it might play.
limecat got them all right. done in 3.7 minutes
he makes everything look sooo easy!
430 86% That piston one got me I of course choose B. Couple more wasn't paying attention to.
