What motor and drivetrain does yours have? Mine is currently having some "work" done on it so I do not have the number right off hand.
go to ls1 tech and go to the special edition vehicle sec and ask around there you find more with your type of car.
Aight thanks
the motor's a 3.4 not sure about the drive train........
The 1995 Proam3 has a V-8 motor. It's base was "The Firebird Formula" The 1994 Proam2 had the V-6. It was a special order series ordered only through a Pontiac Dealer. I have number 5, of 200 made it 1995. It also is considered a Limited Edition. The conversion ordered by a Pontiac Dealer was from a company in Chattanooga TN. Whom are no longer in business. Awsome car and a collectable. Hopes this helps....
I wouldn't mind seeing a few pictures of these cars...
hah, my neighbor has one of these with the gay giant PRO AM III and two tone paint job... now maybe its time to ask to buy the thing...
Never heard of a Pro Am collector car. Any pics / videos!?
Ask and ye shall receive...

looks like a rocket ship
So basically all it was, was a body kit and paint on Firebirds? Or was this for Formula's / Trans Am's too? Any mods done other then body?
I really like that red/silver one.
Also was it a kit? Come from the dealer that way? Special car? Was it only a 1995 thing? I honestly never seen that before.
How Nuckin Fugly!!!
The ProamIII was a special order package for the Firebird Formula, and had to be ordered directly from a Pontiac Dealer. The ProamI was made in 1993, the ProamII in 1994. The last year these cars were produced was in 1995 a ProamIII. Refer to my earlier post 11/18/08. Additionally, Some of the cars pictured here are not the original paint scheme or wheels. As the ground affects were all painted silver. The black and silver pictured is the original paint scheme and wheels.
I too have the Black and Silver #5. First car show out went "Best In Show" in the "American Sports Car Class" in Panama City, Fl. Also was chosen one of the top 100 cars registered with a total of 5,226 cars registered at the 2002 "Cruisin The Coast" in Biloxi, MS. An Award was given to me by "Dennis Gage" from "My Classic Cars" This is in deed a true collectors car.
Here is the beater winter DD locally.

Not sure where you got your information from.. but alot of it is wrong.
The original Pro-Am was released in 1987:

The Pro-Am II was released in 1989:

Difficult to see, but you can make out the "PRO/AM II" on the door.
Here is an even better picture. Which apparently lists a Pro/Am AND and a Pro/Am I, which confuses me a bit :screwy:

The Pro-Am III was released from 1993-1995. It includes all 3 years. Also silver wasn't the only color the lower portion of the car was painted. There were various different color options to choose from.
i saw this car new back in 96.sold new at local pontiac dealer that was owned by the same people that owned the ford dealer where i worked.pontiac salesman called me and said he had a "special"firebird i should check out.i was a big mustang man then.it is a 3.8/a4 i said all show,no go.didn't care for the green/gold paint either.
I have 1996 Pro AM Trans AM Series III #24 Black & Gold
I've never read this thread before and didn't know anything about these cars. Huh... I just keep learning new things everyday :)
They were just appearance packages. If I remember correctly they were made by a company in Chattanooga, TN (that also made conversion vans). I used to own the 1995 #12, sold it to a fellow in Georgia back around 2003. It was a cool car back in the day. I also had a 1982 Mecham Racing Trans Am #199 and that was not just an appearance package (400 small block, posi, 4 wheel disk brakes, 5 speed, koni suspension, etc), but I'd have to scan those photos in (I also have a ton of photos of the 1995 that I could scan in).
Collectors car? Yes people go ape shit over them even back in the day. The Mecham Trans Am? Dennis Mecham himself wanted to buy it back from me, but I ended up selling that to someone else in 2006.
I have a bunch of pics but it won't let me post cause I'm a new user.
