I was looking through (UM ebay) and the Halo lights look pretty nice. Does anyone have some on their camaro with pictures? Are these more for the ricer crowd? are they brighter than stock headlights? I just need some opinions.

They have 2 diff types on eBay that I've seen.
1) Very common 1 halo in the middle w/ either chrome or black housings.
2) A double halo w/ projector lights and LEDs around the side of the beam.
Here's mine, the 1st one mentioned:

also look if your insterested in HIDs they have deals if you buy together but can get pricey, but seen a site with like 225$ for lights the 300with HIDs soo look around
i just bought some yesterday. a little diff. than those posted here
Well I went and did it, I bought some Black halo lights with the matching front and rear bumper lenses. I hope they look good on my Navy blue Camaro. How difficult are they to install? The place I bought them from said they are a true plug and play lights.
Anyone have black halos on a navy blue camaro with pictures?
did you buy them from that ebay store?? if not where???
just put mine in last night
looks good, great job
thanks, i love the 5 or so little led's that line the outside edge
Looks great, those are the same ones I bought. How hard to install? Thanks for posting the pics it has put my mind more at ease. I am tired of everyone thinking the euro style lights are ricey. I really like them and I think it adds a lot to the appearence. I really do not care for the camaros stock head and tail lights.
I think they look a lot like the new c-6 vette headlights which I love. Thanks again for posting the pics:soapbox:
These are the ones I bought I also Bought the matching rear bumper lenses

cool, but do the led on the sides always on. or can they be turned off or deleted
they dont have to be hooked up. i wired mine into my low beam circuit so they are on with the low beams and everyone can see them, i'm sure you can wire up a switch so you can turn them on and off anytime
here ya go

:goodluck::hyper:
oh.. those are the "expensive" halos. :lol... they look nice. i honestly prefer the stock headlights with the whistler. but you can't find replacement lenses for them. and the whole OEM assybly is like 250 a side.. when you can get the halos' for 160 a pair.. where's the justification...
why can't they just sell the individual lenses.. that would make things so much easier.
yeah, did the whistler mod myself... these look better imho
there's a guy on tech that did his SOM. it is pretty sweet looking. but my car is silver. so that would be kinda pointless to do. but the darker colors would be sweet.
you still have your stockers? how are the lenses? are they all foggy and shit?
would you be interested in selling them?
whats that site that sell the halos +the hids
Do any of you guys know if they make these halo led lights for TA's? :dunno:
I got my new Halo's in today and wow what a difference!!! I love them and the new black bumber lights look great as well. I just wish the company I bought then from added the bumber light bulbs needed, I had a hard time tracking down the rear red ones. I finally found them at a Big Rigg truck stop of all places. The front ambers were easy to find. I'll get some pictures up soon, We are going on a big cruise tomorrow so I'll polish up the car and take some pics and post them.
I got my halos in, got em adjusted, went for a spin down the road to see if adjustment was right, Then noticed the lenses inside starting to fog a bit. Any thing you can do to prevent this? It was a little cooler this evening with a lot of humidity. Thanks
that not too good since there brand new and a couple hundred dollars.
i would not worry about it unless it is happening everytime and if it rains and takes on water
run a bead of clear silicone over the seam...
here are some pics with the new halos in and 1 with the stockers

I really love them and the fogging has gone away!!!
really nice car, and i think that the blue is one of the nicest on the maros
didnt we all look for that orange car, but when we found it there was somthing wrong with it. i know what your talking about.LOL
whats the adjustment like on halos? is it really a big deal..
and stock halos VS stock set up are the halos really better for light transfer??
I found 1, a SS car, low milage, but it was an automatic car and no t-tops (2 things I did not like), and It was at a dealer and they would not back down on the price at all.:brick:
O well I'm glad I got the one I did, It was a 1 owner car with only 35,000 miles on it, and well taken care of by a guy that was in his late 40's.
yeah, they are brighter imho, i have the same setup above on my NBM car and on our SOM its still stock but the halos are brighter
Yeah, my halos were a little brighter than stock. But when I went with HIDs, WOW!:thumbup: What a difference!! I did have to angle them down a bit to keep from blinding drivers in front. Lost about a foot or so of beam, but I really couldn't tell, and it's not as annoying to others drivers. Let me just say that I've had them on for about a year now, and I've never been stopped by cops because of them.
Does this kit come with bulbs? What needs to be done to get HID? Is it just different bulbs with the same kit?
also to add if i buy a HID kit can i transer it to another car???????????
while were on this topic sorry to hijack a lil but were now on HIDs
anyone have any pics of a red camaro with the halos? I dunno if they would look right. they look great on black, blue, white and silver cars..... but I dunno about red.
The lights do come with bulbs. They are not the same size as the stock headlight bulbs. The projectors use H3 bulbs. So you will need an H3 HID kit. If you already have an HID kit you can just get the bulb.Quote:

As stated the projectors use an H3 bulb so you can only transfer the kit if to another housing that is using an H3 bulb, like an aftermarket fog light.Quote:

Your Halo kits look great! I have a question about the bulbs that come with the kits.
Do these kits have the standard 9006 and 9005 bulbs and what about the center light, what is it? Thanks.
The high beam is still the same 9005 bulb. The low beam now uses an H3 bulb instead of the 9006 bulb in the stock lights. There is a connector included which allows for plug and play use. The center light around the lights is a halo light. They light up just like the original halos.
Thanks for starting this thread; lights and car are beautiful. I'm wondering what you thought about the chrome or gray instead of black. I have a NBM as well and I'm trying to decide. I wonder if the chrome would be too much bling. Did you buy the CCFL and will your kit accept the HID if you want to add? I will go back through your post in case you provided a link to where you bought.
This looks bad with 3 posts in a row - sorry to Jays00ss for hovering...
Is it possible that the cheaper kits just use 9006 and 9005 bulbs. What I see from the more expensive kits is the word "projector" in the description and that's where the H3 bulbs seem to be touted. Is it possible some cheaper halo kits just use the standard bulbs with no H3?
Also, I see one kit definitely has a center bulb like I see in cobrahunters 98. I sent you a PM on what / where and how much - thinking you have what I'm looking for.
I would go with the black ones. The chrome are a little to bling for me. I guess to each his own. I also have the matching black aztecca rear lights as well. alot of people on here (Ls1) don't like them however they look great on my car and compliment the head lights and bumber lenses nicely. I really hate the stock tail lights anyway. I get a lot of compliments on both my head and taillights all the time.
There are three types of halo type lights:
1. Original halo's that use the 9005/9006 bulbs like stock.
2. The two light projector (pictured in this thread) which uses an H3 and a 9005 bulb.
3. The three light projectors with a light in the middle. Not sure what type of bulbs it uses.
I was considering the halos because of the price of oem but I found some Oem"style" headlights on ebay for $200.00 and went with them. Doesnt it make a Camaro look terrible when the headlights are all fogged? I figure I will take my stock fogged ones off and redo them with 4 different grits of wet sand paper then plastx and sell them for $100 bucks obo.
Thanks.
I did find a single (original) halo kit that includes a 8000k HID kit for $250 shipped but the only similar ebay feedback that had the HID kit included was a BIG negative with a claim filed on the seller so I decided on the plain single LED halo for $140; No additional LEDs, no H3 projector socket and no CCFL. I hope the thread is still active a week from now and that I'll have something to contribute.
cobrahunter - I think I understand how your picture seems to show a third center light. From looking at pictures of the back of the housing, the larger low beam reflector cavity incorporates that smaller center section. It looks like the low beam bulb light refraction fills that center section and makes it look like another bulb. Does that sound right?
So, can someone go into a little bit more detail about how to wire the center ring shaped light into the parking lights or low beam circuit?
Did mine to my parking lights. It was easy, Just cut the wires going to your parking lights, Strip the wire, then splice in your halo wires (I used a 3 way spitter). Just test which wire is the hot wire before crimping. or you can splice to your fog lights, that way you have a a switch to use when you want them on or off.
It figures, I picked the wrong light. I should have realized the large bulb was on alot. It's baked pretty good. Here's some pictures of the process.

I got it done. Took a very long time to adjust the damn things so that they actually fit like stock though, so long that I ended up bolting up my TSP true duals in the dark tonight! Still sounding and looking great though!!!
Now everything on my car is either red or black, except for the stock wheels.
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a13...headlights.jpg
wow they look great on a red car as well as the NBM. I think alot of people dont get halos because they think they are rice. I like them but I hate that ghey looking light that is a circle.
Alright guys, I've found 3 different types of Halo lights:
Type 1: The original Halos with 3 lights, the "Halo" is in the center.
Type 2: CCFL 7000, 2 "Halo" lights only + 5 small LED accents in outer corners
Type 3: H3 LOW BEAM PROJECTOR BULBS & 9005 HIGH BEAM BULBS with 3 large LED accent lights on outer corners.
Mine are the type 2 and I love them!! :drivin:
Type 2 here as well.
Yeah, I think I'll be going with the "Type 2" as well since they give the car a Euro look similar to the goats.
Just so you guys know, I didn't find these things listed as Type 1, 2, 3, etc. I just listed them like that because it seems like that's the order they were released.
could i put this on an older cam like a 1995-97?
I haven't seen any kits for pre-98 models since the housing is different.
To Guz & Jays,
Do you guys have any night pics with a shot of what the cutoff looks like?
i posted this in another thread and i added a nose pic and night ones at the end.....
I bought another foglight switch and ran mine to that, this way i can just have the halos on and thats it, i dont have traction control so i had an empty slot on the dash...
heres some pics of my second fog light switch for my halos
this is with just the halos on
heres with both fog lights and halos
with both on at nite, notice the halo one doesnt illuminate the symbol just the amber light
This is just the halo on foglighs off
whole interior shot

I got mine around when they first were coming out. I hear they're getting better at the fitment.
i also got mine when they first came out, they dont fit that well either, my passenger light pionts up high, if i adjust it so its pointing at the right level then theres too much of a gap on the bottom and looks like $h!t
How many washers did you use? I've put anywhere from 0 to 6 washers and then adjusted them to a height I needed and the gap was horrendous!
I settled for looks over vision. Mine now look great but the light shines about 3 feet in front of the bumper. The only light I get is from my fog lights.
Any pics on a white car?
Check my sig for pics.
As far as the poor fitment you can try this. This should fix everything.

I'm not a fan of the rings the halos have. I prefer a plain old whistler mod.
I can't remember who I got them from, but I got them on eBay.
nice thread
