is this hood too much for my car? with pics!

later on down the road i am goin to go with a ram air hood. i just dont know if the 4" ram air or the 4" that extends to windshield is too much for my street car. or should i go with a stock ws6 hood? and no i dont really like the look of the predator hood so that one is out. so let me know what yall think.

unless you have clearance issues i would leave it. the others are way to big for me. but thats just my my two.

dont get the 4" hood. i think you should address the issues of having black/painted rims, IMO. spend your money on a good set of nice chrome rims and get a little life back in your ride. it looks like every other black TA out there who's owner just has to have black rims...

ok first this isnt bout my rims, two 99% of the black TAs iv seen have chrome rims, and three i and 99% of people that see that car like the black on black

I agree with the SSwt00SS that it does need something to wake up the look by off setting all the black. I've only seen 1 car that looked good in all black and that was a C6 ZO6 that was posted on the site. :drool: Remember we're just trying to help by giving our opinions. it's all good, bro. i wasnt meaning to insult your ride by saying the rims were bad, just IMO that it was alot of black. i am a fan of the Z06 rims that you have. if my original post came of as disrespective, i by no means ment for it too, to you or about your ride...

i do have a suggestion. have you ever considered removing the side molding off your doors, and quarter panels? if so, take a sec, and check out this thread. that's my car in the first few pics, and there is also a pic of a white TA with it removed for reference...:D

Those hoods is nasty... the car looks good with the black rims... maybe if anything they could use a Chrome lip around them... but I wouldn't put Full Chrome on em... :yup:

I have a 2002 Black WS6, but damn that silver TA is bad as hell , just had to ley ya know. I wouldnt trade my 02 Fbody for the world, but I have always liked that body style(almost just as much as mine to tell you the truth). Please dont sell it-EVER.

i personally like the 4 inch. the only problem i see is if you go extended will your wind sheild wipers hit? im all about being different i have polished 17/ 9.5 and 17/11 zr1 wheels on my z so i like shiney. but i like different too so keep the wheels its your car and you have to drive so do it your way.

I'm with the others. Personally I like the stocker but if you want a change I'd go with the WS6.

The lt1 ws6 hood would look the best, but it is also more common, so...

I say go for the regular ram air 4". I kinda like the look of it.


Don't like the one that goes all the way to the windshield at all...unless you have a wheelie bar and a parachute.

I like it the way it is but u want to change it go with the WS6

As far as the color, cant go wrong with Black/Red and some Chrome!

As far as the hood thing, I've always been a fan of the Stinger Cowl hoods!

Just a suggestion, but you could get the stinger hood, and do a Carbon Fiber wrap on the hood and some accessory pieces. Like your mirrors, spoiler, etc..

a buddy did that but with Red/Black Kevlar/Carbon Fiber and it is the Shizzznit!

It would set your car apart from your buddies, and look better...IMO

yea all that would just be more then i wanna spend cause the most of of my $ is goin into my 80 TA

i voted ws6 cuz the others are too big... or just keep it stock

I think thats the Raptor or WS6 II hood. I think they look pretty bad ass IMO, but I'm still a fan of the Stinger or "Big Block" hoods.

How about some updates on this? Did you decide a hood yet?

well when i fint 1 im goin with the WS6 hood but i wanna find 1 that is black and some1 that aint askin too much. i have a few places round here i can look and then ill start lookin fauther away
