What is your favorite amusement park?
Headed to CedarPoint in a week and a half. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
In my opinion it's the best due to the fact they have 17 roller coasters in one park.3 are in the top 10 in the world. Not to mention it is right on Lake Erie.
If your into coasters I would HIGHLY recommend you plan a summer trip there.

yeah i heard about cedar point...siiiiiiickkkk coasters... but i voted six flags becuase ive never been to cedar point and great adventure in new jersey has some amazing coatsers..like kinda ka

I would tell you you won't regret spending the cash to go there. It will NEVER satisfy you to go to SixFlags again after going to CedarPoint.
I was SO DISAPOINTED when I moved out west thinking there would be at least a few amusement parks that would put CedarPoint to shame seeing that they could be open year round.:(

I voted 'other'. Being a Pennsylvania man at heart, I love Hershey Park. They have an amazing collection of rollercoasters that take the limelight because they aren't the biggest or the fastest, but the rides are just plain quality. The Comet (oldest coaster in the park) is my favorite wooden coaster there, or any park for that matter, and I believe it's actually my number one favorite, as well as the first rollercoaster I ever rode and enjoyed. Storm Runner is their newest, a launch coaster similar to Top Thrill Dragster at CP, but smaller, and only half the speed. You cannot beat 0-70 mph in 2.4 seconds short of going to cedar point and riding TTD. Lightning Racer, duelling and racing wooden coasters with steel-coaster smoothness, absolutely amazing ride for a woodie. The wildcat is a freaking kidney buster, i dislike that ride quite a bit. The great bear is another great ride, however, needed a better ending as there is a lot of straight track with nothing going on up to the brake section before the station. There are a host of other coasters there and they're all top-notch in my opinion. Combine that with the atmosphere of the family-oriented park and you have a winner. The only complaint I have is the pricing of certain things (food). Kinda outrageous, but what park isn't rediculous anymore?
I've been going to Amusement parks since the early 70s, nothing compares to Cedar Point! The best variety of coasters, and it is not a park with a theme like Disney Land or Six Flags, where it seems like all they try to do is sell you more of their crap you don't need to take home.
When my younger brother and my Dad and I went one time, on our 3rd ride in a row on the Mineshaft roller coaster, he got on and walked right through the car, he did not want to do it again! I think he was about 6 years old, very funny!

I remember when I was too short to ride the roller coasters I LOVED the Antique Cars. It was my favorite.Almost like I was really driving.

I've had many drunken trips there....... We would put your fists in between your thighs and the bars they push down on your legs and as soon as you start climbing that first hill undo the seat belt. It's great you almost have to hold yourself in. I can ride it 3-4 times in arow. Usually nice short line cause all the kids don't want to ride some "old slow wood coaster"...... little do they know.Quote:

Cedar Point is by far the best. Before I left for the military I took one last trip right when they first open Dragster but it was broke down. So I didn't get to ride it, but I have ridden Millenium force multiple times- definently a rush. Even their old coasters are better then many other parks.

Almost every year I drive 470 miles one way from Northern New Jersey to ride Cedar Point's coasters.
The rides are incredible. Their maintenance is good. And their safety rating is excellent. Six Flags Great Adventure is 60 miles from here, and I refuse to go to that broken down, inner city ghetto park. Sure Kingda Ka is 30 feet taller than Dragster, but you can't tell the difference when you're on it and G.A. is such an awful place to be.
I've been going to Cedar Point since 1993... since before even the Raptor was there! It's fun to look back at old pictures and park maps. Was also there for the opening of Millennium Force in 2000, as well as Wicked Twister in 2002.
I was just at Cedar Point 2 weeks ago... Maverick was not open yet, they are removing the heart line roll because apparently the g-forces were too great on it. It was OK, got on Millennium Force about 6 times, Magnum about 6 or 7, and did a bunch of quick rerides on one of my favorites... The Gemini.
Oh yah... the Antique Cars are cool.. but the TURNPIKE CARS are better... the little mini Corvettes and Cobras. :yup:
Voted Kings Island cuz thats the only place I have ever been to. And its only like 45mins away. They have a new ride this year too. Supposed to be pretty good.

I can attest that Hershey Park is a great place to see, for both young and old. If you love Hershey's chocolate and would like to see what goes into making all of hersheys tasty treats you'll REALLY love it. I gain about 25 lbs everytime I visit that place lol I also agree that Great Adventure in jersey although has badass coasters, is a ghetto shithole.
cedar point is the best!! last time i was there they had to close the dragster because the top of it was in the clouds!!

We stayed in a cottage right on Erie in the park it was awsome. Gave everyone a $200 firework show shooting them right over the lake.

Grew up in LA so I've been to every amusement park more than a few times over. MM was my favorite. Me and my bro went every year for 10-15 years just to try the newest rides. Hell I'm old enough to have gone to some parks that are't even there anymore, specifically The Cyclone Racer that was in Long Beach and Pacific Ocean Park (POP) that used to be where the marina is in Marina del Rey. Both were made from wood, went in excess of 60 mph and were built over the water.
Yeah, over the water coasters are some of the best.

Six flags!!!!! Ive been feeling a little too tall lately. I heard they got the fix!
I live in Florida so I've been to a lot of theme parks and I don't like any of them really. Sit and really think about it, you have to stand in long lines sweat your a$$ off for hours and pay Hundreds of dollars to enter and eat.
That's why I like Cedar Point, it really isn't a "Theme Park" like most others. CP puts the $$$ in the rides, not goofy "attractions". We travelled to Disney World in FL 8 years ago and all of us were highly dissapointed with the price, rides, and all the crap they were trying to get you to buy as memorabilia. I've been to a lot of amusement parks and i'd still pick cedar point as the best!
just the ones i remember:
Six flags in NJ (it's been about ten years, but used to be nice from what i remember)
Six flags magic mountain CA (ghetto crowd and not much atmosphere, but some fun coasters)
Busch gardens virginia (nice family park decent coasters)
busch gardens Fl (about the same, virginia was a little nicer though, free beers a +)
Sea world san diego CA(mostly shows, so spent more time with the free beer)
Sea world san antonio TX (enjoyed the water park side, since it was 155 deg that day, also got pulled into private hospitality room w/ free beers and snacks while watchin tv in nice comfy leather chairs)
Knotts berry farm CA (nice family park, but not many coasters)
lego land CA(sucked ass, only park my kids actually asked to leave)
universal studios hollywood CA(decent, but doesn't compare to the one in Fl)
Universal Orlando FL(fun, but mostly virtual rides, i prefer coasters)
Disney world FL(been there done that, Not really impressed with the rides, but the atmosphere is fun for the kids)
Hershey Park PA(always has been a nice family park with a few decent coasters)
king's island OH(fun park, Beast and son of beast were a blast, although if your that close just go to Cedar Point)
Dorney Park PA (Been more than a few years, but was small from what i remember)
Morey's pier and mariner's landing? Wildwood NJ (had a blast here when i spent summers at the beach with friends, something about coasters over the water... or maybe the beer bongs before the coaster ride..)
Camp Snoopy? inside Mall of America MN (kids had some fun, although they were younger then)
circus cicus vegas nv (keeps the kids occupied while the adults have the real fun)
out of all of these i still pick Cedar Point! TTD still the best coaster!

SANDUSKY, Ohio – Just when you thought that they couldn't’t possibly add any more thrills and wild rides to the shores of Lake Erie, Cedar Point amusement park/resort has announced that Skyscraper, a towering thrill ride, will debut this summer in the Challenge Park activity complex.
Skyscraper will be unlike any ride you have ever experienced on the Cedar Point Peninsula. Featuring a giant propeller consisting of two arms that will spin guests in a full circle, Skyscraper is one of the most thrilling rides in the amusement industry.
Four riders, two on each arm, will sit in open cars with their feet dangling, on opposite ends of the propeller. The arms of the propeller quickly rotate in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, spinning riders 16 stories into the air at speeds of up to 55 mph. At its highest point, riders will be upside down 160 feet above the ground!

Located in Frontiertown, the $21 million Maverick is a coaster unlike any other. Riders aboard Maverick are launched to the top of the 105-foot-tall first hill, before plummeting down to Earth at an incredible 95-degree angle at speeds of up to 57 mph! Multiple twists, turns and inversions are all thrilling components of the Maverick experience. A second launch through a 400-foot-long dark tunnel at speeds exceeding 70 mph and the first-of-kind Twisted Horseshoe Roll add to the excitement of the 4,450-foot-long ride.
Cedar Point placed five of its coasters in the Top 20 “Best Steel Roller Coasters” listing. At No. 2 was the legendary Millennium Force roller coaster. i used to always fit in a trip to Cedar Point after going to the TA nationals in Vandalia.
It's been a couple years since i've made the trek with the car in tow... something tells me if gas stays at $4 a gal, it won't be this year either.

Cedar Point is awesome if you like coasters. The top thrill dragster goes 0-120 in 4 seconds! A 15 second ride, but well worth the waiting and sweating and money for gas.

Cedar Point hands down, but when i would go stay with my brother in Tampa for the summer we would go to Bush Gardens and that place is pretty amazing.
as many times as ive been to cedar point since that ride was opened i never road it, becuase everytime id go it was shut down for maintence ive road everthing there except that cause its always shup down, and Sandusky is really boring i think thats why they opend Cedar point there. lolQuote:

Sandusky isn't that bad you just need to bring watercraft,booze,and woman! What else could you possibly need. Yeah there isn't anything else really around there other than Lake Erie. But shit you can easily have a good 3 days of fun between the rides,water-park,:sex:,and fun in the lake. We have taken jet skis up there a couple times and rented a boat once. I was thinking about doing some fishing up there on Erie this year................
There has got to be a nice selection of fish in that little lake.
We rented one of the cabins on site for the first time last year and it's well worth the money!

It was BAD ASS. It rotates slowly but it swings @ 70mph and goes past 90* so when you end up in the right place on the rotation your falling down out of your seat now resting on the restraint ready to fall to your death.........

Knotts Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags San Antonio, riden the coasters in Las Vegas, Hershey Park, Busch Gardens in Florida, Universal: Islands of Adventure, Kings Island, even went to a park in Korea that was interesting. I have ridden coasters almost every where I go, and I can honestly say that Cedar Point is the BEST park, with the BEST coaster of anywhere I have ever, EVER been. If you like Coasters than Cedar Point is a must go place. You have not lived till you have been to Cedar Point, period!

plus now there are two indoor water parks down the street - great bear lodge and kalahari. (a third is currently under construction.) i just drove past the entrance to cedar point last weekend, though ive only been there three times.
great wolf lodge, and kalahari are the two i have stayed at both of those with the kids. both have outdoor stuff also pool big buckets that dump ect.Quote:
