Who owes Taxes...

well i get paid 26 times/year (every two weeks). now because i owe so much in taxes this year, it wipes out one of those pay periods...

time to go to the bank so i can pay my fuckin' $1232 to the fuckin' government...

nothing beats having to work the hours i do without the government helping me out by my side. my hard earned money going to waste on a war we have no business being involved in, my money spent on illegals in my country, and my money pissed away on criminals on death row cause lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment...

I know what you mean but this is the second year in a row that I get something back rather than pay even more at tax time.

Us Canucks (at my wage/single/heathy male) get 60% of my money taxed from the gov't.

I would much rather live in the USA at times than pay 60% for the welfare state and all their programs.

I owe the feds $1800 and the state $1300 for last year. I also need to make an estimated payment of $1500 to the feds for this year. Looks like I'll be living off of ramen for the next few months.

The downside to having a side job is the stupid self employment tax.

if i did, any refund that i have always gotten (upto this year) has always gone in a CD. So i basically never see the money. Outta sight, outta mind...

My friggen stupid ass employer didn't hold out enough like they were supposed to and though my wife was supposed to get $1300 back, the fuckers at my work shorted them enough that I still have to pay like $250 or something. That's not bad, but they were supposed to have withheld WAY more than they did.

not always true if you own 2 house and show one as a loss that is a credit basically, then you ad kids in. it's not always what they take out vs- what you paid.

In my case I didn't put in enough for the estimated payments for my side job. Not really a big issue though since I knew I'd owe quite a bit and I always keep savings high.

I owed $4,200.00 when I was self employeed two years ago. Now Uncle Sam has to pay me.

Just paid a hair under $1K

1150 to federal, and 850 to state, I made somrthing like $13,000, but I had like 12500 in the bank before I paid for housing, enrolled in college and paid taxes, now it is a lot less.

people need to look at it differently. If you are getting money back it's money the gov't has had and collected interest on all year that could have been in YOUR bank account instead.

Now if you owe them money at the end of the year you are just giving them what they didn't have of yours to begin with. It's actually better to have to pay then to get money back. I always laugh when people are happy they got money back, It's your money to begin with why are you happy they are giving it back to you.

well just got back, owe 7400 more, took in 100 k plus, it all comes out in the wash, fn rip off 25 % tax bracket after 61 k.

I still dont get WHY people have to pay. If the government doesnt tax you correctly the first time, why should we pay them for their mistakes?

I used to feel the same way until I woke up and realized that it's my own responisbility to determine the amount withheld out of my check for taxes. Even if that means making an additional payment (like 20, 30, 100 bucks) per pay period.

I know it sucks, but that's just kind of how it is.

According to the IRS we owe taxes, interest and penalty on $30K+ of unreported stock sales. Apparently the brokerage firm didn't send them a 1099 on one account. Since they don't have the cost basis they used the full price. I suspect when it is all sorted out we won't owe anything but it scared the $hit out of my wife when the letter came.

So did anyone pull a wesley snipes?
