It looks to me like it was on purpose. The guy facing the camera looks to his right as the couple approaches, says something to the guy with his back to the camera presumably letting him know they were approaching.
I don't think that he was trying to hit her as much as trying forcefully to feel her up. In any event he got what he deserved. My only advice is that if it 2 on 1, it is ok to kick one of the guys when he is down to make it a 1 on 1 fight.
