My new wheels

New to me atleast. So I wanted a set of wheels that were 17x11 in the rear. I didn't want the usual suspects TT2's, ZR1's, etc. So I found a guy locally selling these. Got a smoking deal, and they look close enough to the wheels I originally wanted CCW classics. The car is being lowered next.

17x9.5 Profil's 275/40/17.. correct offset and bolt pattern. Could have went to 18's but I'm not a big wheel fan, so these were perfect for me. Better than the 16x8's. My stock 02 chrome 16x8 wheels with tires weighed the exact same weight as these with tires.

Just curious, did you drop the car any? I was looking into getting some 18x 9.5 and was wondering how they would look without the car being lowered. Im sure in the long run I will drop it 1.5-2 inchs.

The wheel gap does look a little larger than stock, but im not sure cuz i own a TA. my suggestion is to just lower it! :yup:

I ran 20's on my f-body,(99T/A) while running eibach springs that lowered it quite a bit and had no handling or rubbing issues at all. The 20's and eibachs closed the gap and the wheels gave me a tad more ground clearance. They were kinda heavy--i think the wheel/tire combo wieght was around 47 lbs each. check them out 20's on a t/a at www.msnusers.com/ricks99

I had 17's on the car (pic bellow) these only weigh a couple of lbs more. This car is only getting a built top end with full bolton's and light spray so as far as performance it only has to keep up with lets say a stock or lightly moded Z06 or Terminator in a straight line. This is purely my street car but I still want it to hold its own with whatever rims I put on it. But at the end of 07 I'll pick up another F body or a vette to go all out with (track or whatever the LSX Block is talking to me:love: ) depending on my play money and THE BOSS (wife). And as far as loss the only thing I'm really upset with is the top end losses it redlines around 150 :cuss: (don't ask me how I know) due to the gearing and the diameter of the wheel.
