Choo Choo fools
It was blustery this morning up here. Going to warm up just a bit today but still have white stuff in the forecast.
Need to start spending some time in the garage after work in the evenings. Will have to pick my next project... on the ride home from Beaver Sunday we went through each of the cars and discussed what they need this year. Unfortunately, too many of them need that thing called "tires". :(
I'm good on tires for now :woot:
I need to get back in the garage after work. It'd be easier if my commute wasn't close to an hour each way
I have new front and rear tires ready to be installed on the SS.

Monte, Trans Am, and '40 all need tires, as do the drag wheels for the Trans Am. I emailed back and forth with Universal Tire out of Hershey today on the Eagle GT's -- the price is the price.
Finally got an isea of what's been giving me hell since Jan 2nd with my right hip.
Coming back from Indy I stepped out of the car to refuel, as I pivot to turn towards the rear of the car I felt a shit ton of pain from my pelvis and hip. I thought it was just because of driving for 3hrs and my muscles were sore. Well after about 10 days went to finally see a Dr about it because the pain hadn't subsided and I was forced to use my crutch full time, even around the house, which I normally don't use because I have stuff to grab if I need stability. So Dr gave me a Cortisone shot in the hip with zero relief. He then sets up a MRI which I did on Monday. So Tuesday night comes and I must have moved my leg hard in my sleep because I woke up feeling like my nuts were in a vice. So off to the er. This Dr does an ultrasound to see if I had a hernia, which turned out suspect, because they saw a couple of dense echoes around the pelvis and hip. So he pulls the MRI results and it says possible stress fracture & positive on fluid in the joint. So off for a CT scan....only thing that came conclusive was no acute fracture (meaning no bone chips or complete breakage) but looks quite possible that it does have a stress fracture. I go back to Ortho on Friday to see how treatment is going to be.
So far on no walking, to stay off it.
Too soon for broken hip jokes? :p
I thought your warranty had been reinstated, Scott?
So did I....
2 days home and my wife is already asking when do I go back to work.....
Well.... in her defense it's hard for the milk man to make his "daily rounds" with husbands home.
My week was an upside down bell curve -- it went from good to suck to good.
Mornin
How much longer until May? Vacation time can't get here soon enough
superbowl weekend......getting things together here and doing all my shopping today. Going with the old stand bys......brisket, ribs, chicken wings, but adding frog legs to it hopefully. Found a place that might carry them in Columbus I'm going to check with today. Oh.....and beer.....lots and lots of beer.
Will see if I watch more than 10 minutes of it this year. That's about my average annual viewing time for the past 20 years.
Yep, if my team isn't in it then it's just another party with a football game in the background. Always a good time though.
I have to be up at 230 am on Monday.

That sucks, I have off on Monday. Going to drive to the county we got married in and get an official copy of our marriage cert since I can't find the one we already had. Should have just got married in Milwaukee county dammit. At the Pabst beer hall like I wanted.
Yea, 6 a.m. flight to shithole NJ

Get to at least spend a few hrs in CT.

Heading to the office this morning, then to Corning to a couple of antique shops. After that, have a viewing to go to up that same direction. :(
Morning
Hmm do I just save that picture and text it to the Mrs or put it on her Facebook wall:hmm:
I knew you guys would like that.
Nuts, we were invited to a super foosball party tonight. Probably be rude if I showed up with a stack of car mags to read during the game.
Probably not as I get a hunch it'll turn into some political bs event
Elected to stay home and play in the garage so I changed the oil in my father's truck.
Chicken
Good game last night, a lot of firsts, and maybe the greatest (and luckiest) catch to turn a game around.
Mornin'. :coffee:
6 a.m. flight sucked

Rise and shine f00s
No shining here. Rain, mud and yuck.
Morning', peeps. I hope the new year is treating you all well.
Feb 23-26th is Carlisle in my town for those interested. :) I don't come back from Dallas till the 23rd but am.planning to go that weekend. Jeff, Zap, Cpop, JM, I have spare bedrooms. :)
I forgot that they host a show in Florida. Still have to figure out what we are doing this year. Right now, the only definites are the Chevy show in June and Arizona in November.
Oh yeah...tornado watch.....
Afternoon
Today was just one of those joyous days in my world. I was handing out ass kickings and lollipops... and I was all out of lollipops. :chuckles:
I think I'm going to block HGTV & DIY Channels on my DirectTV. Every time my wife watches it, it cost me money and time.
At some point we will be pulling the trigger on a kitchen remodel... won't be adding to the collection for a long time after that happens.
when is someone on here going to upgrade stereo equipment and give me some big floor speakers or a receiver? I want to get a garage stereo together better than the bookshelf POS I have out there now but I don't want to spend $500 on a garage stereo.
I could use a new unit as the cd changer in my garage is busted
Around here ppl during college football season sit outside in the garages watching the games....
why? F that, I'll sit inside in the ac....
The only people I see watching games in the garage are smokers.
Internet has been down at our office since late yesterday. :(
Wife woke me up at 5:30 because the garage door opener quit with the door about 3/4 of the way up. Yay
disconnect the trolley and throw er up
get a new wife
Dreading the day one of our door openers dies. They quit making them a few years back and I will have to reconfigure everything.
Blustery out tonight. Going back down to the office in a bit for dinner and a surprise.
oil change, tire rebalance and rotation on the service truck tonight. waiting for 7:30 to roll around, going to do an oil burner start up on a brand new maple syrup boiler. I must be a glutton for punishment, I volunteered for this.
Spent a good portion of the day dealing with hr over two idiot employees.......
Jeff, this is about the only thing I can think of that would be close to what you have.
Buy LiftMaster 8500 Elite Series Wall Mount Garage Door Opener | Preferred Doors
Blew $880 at the casino tonight. This is a regular occurrence the last 1.5 years. I'm going to download my win/loss statement from 2016. Just guessing here, but I'd say I lost around 30-35k. 😣

You should take up another hobby....Perhaps something you're better at haha
Morning
Anyone use a belt drive opener before?
Something like 40-50 gallons of raw sap to make one gallon of syrup.
This is no amateur operation though. They're using a reverse osmosis system to remove a huge amount of the water before it ever gets to the evaporator. The evaporator itself holds around 150 gallons, and they're anticipating 20-30 gallons of finished syrup per hour.
For their sake I hope they do... the fuel oil burner has two stages of firing, both combined will burn 15.6 gallons of oil per hour. All total that's over 2 million btus. By far and away the biggest burner I've ever worked on.
Yeah, my problem is, I can go through a few hundred within 30 min or less. Goes quick at $5-$10 a pull. There is a limit on my ATM card for withdrawal amount per day fortunately. I'm keeping a spreadsheet this year of each visit and I log it to see where I'm at.

<< Never gambled. Rather throw away my $$ on cars, car parts and tools. :)
Yeah I do that too. Throw my money away on a lot of shit lol.

French doors blow. Between cleaning, prepping, painting and then razoring the panes and a final cleaning I bet we have almost 8 manhours total per door. Not being sexist, but "personhours" just didn't seem to work.
Guess I should program the opener and finish it up
Knocked out some minor projects around the house. Cleaned the sink drains, tightened up the headboard on our bed ( :) ), and then cleaned the ceiling fans and bathroom fans. Probably heading to the parents' and then back down to the office in a bit.
Cheese steaks for dinner tonight. Cooked up some shaved steak we received from our daughter-in-law's parents' farm. Seasoned the steak, melted provolone cheese over it in the pan and then slapped it into some toasted rolls. The stuff straight from the farm seems so much better than store bought meat. Very tender and full of flavor.
There's a lot to be said for fresh from the farm vs store bought. We've (my parents lol) bought beef from a farmer/customer for the last 3-4 years now, and it just doesn't compare to buying from the store. It's tough to swallow the initial price vs buying smaller quantities all year long, but in the end it's so much handier to have it on hand when you want it instead of planning meals.
Our valentines day meal will be T bone steaks from this years beef we picked up a month ago.
that's kinda how I am with deer. Ideally I'd like to pack that freezer up through hunting season and then for the rest of the year if we want meat it's already here. Just takes another step out of meal planning. The years I don't fill that freezer everyone here feels it. This year we'll be good until about august I would guess. Both deer me and zach shot were on the small side so didn't get a ton of meat from them.
Weather was nice this weekend. Got some maintenance done that I've been putting off. Wife picked up a bolt in one of her tires yesterday so that kinda kick started everything. Plugged the tire and rotated them, did oil changes on all the vehicles, and replaced a glow plug in the truck that's been throwing a code for a month. I have a side marker out on the truck that's next on the list....thought I had the bulb here but didn't so I have to run to the parts store tomorrow to get one. I still think I have one here somewhere because I think it's the same bulb in the 3rd brake light and I replaced one of those last summer so there should be one in a pack somewhere. No idea where I would've put it.
I got my grandfathers anvil this past weekend. Has to be damn near 100 years old. 250lbs. Bought tongs, a few hammers, quenching tube and oil. Now I just need to build my forge and I can begin to pretend to be a blacksmith. Really can't wait to start hammering on some red hot steel and see what happens.
hello
what rock got turned over recently? Sarge posted on the 10th and then today GTP's husband......weird month I guess.
0rion you know I only have eyes for you
Well... that makes me feel left out :sulk:
yeah....I just assumed he was dead
Looks like he's had about a half dozen lucid moments this year

Either that or someone hacked his account
If that's true, then I've been sending and receiving private messages with a hacker:umm: :p
Do you feel violated?
I'm not sure :chuckles:
Derek did say he has something for you
Eagle man....I've got something for you....
It's probably just low rates.
