Who's with me?
First :woo:
I'm back in town :p
Dropped the bird off to get my exhaust welded up, should get it back tomorrow.
...the wind just blew over my garbage can...:brick:
:nite:
Jeff....this is why lawyers are so hated.
Subway's Footlongs Will Now Actually Be a Foot Long - Fortune
Quote:
As part of the settlement, the judge approved $520,000 in attorney fees and $500 for each of the 10 representatives of the class action, though potential members of the class won’t receive any compensation. Subway will also have to make sure its subs really are the advertised length. The chain said in a statement that it has “already taken steps to ensure each guest receives the Footlong or six-inch sandwich they order.”
Sorry - I had to "like" that one! Believe me, there are other reasons why we are hated. :chuckles:
Pulled the plugs on the W-31 last night, squirted a little oil down the cylinders and rolled her over by hand. This could be the year that she actually roars to life again... maybe.
Also they are no longer $5, now running $6. (at least in my area.)
Can't eat that kind of food anymore....:sulk: I loved Sub's....
Can't wait to pick up my car today, getting 3" Mandrel Bend Stainless Steel tubing, Magnaflow Muffler, my QTP E-cutout pipe, adding another O2 sensor bung for future Wideband, and 3" Dual Tips installed.
that's a major one though :D Who the hell are the 10 representatives that got $500 each? The original plaintiffs? So they get $500 and the damn lawyers get $520,000 but no damages were awarded? Those lawyers saw that shit coming a mile away. This country is a train wreck and lawyers are the ones tooting the whistle. :D
Actually politicians are but many of them were lawyers before they found the only job where they could be bigger asshats and make even more money off the people.
^^ :true:
^^ :yup:
:firedevil: :mel: Forgotten what a muffler sounds like.....

Let brother George explain why this country is why it is...

 You guys crack me up. :)
:tumbleweed:
Yeah, been damn busy lately. In the evenings, my brother has been coming over to use our computer so I can't get on the site at night.
Heading to the Beaver house this weekend to attend the pre-season track meeting. I'll sign up for the Friday night street race series and hopefully be able to make a few events this year. I'd kind of like to take one of our older cars down for some of the nostalgia drags at some point. That would be way cool. Just dreaming, but I have a '67 Olds Cutlass with a 330 and a 2 speed auto... and I also have a '70 Buick 455 setting on the floor of my garage. I think that together they would make one cool bastardized drag car.
My car quit ticking all on its own :hmm: Ironically it was after 3 pulls against a 03 terminator with exhaust..............not even remotely kidding.
Probably a stuck lifter.
Still it might be a smart move to pull the filter and cut it open.
It ticked it means it wants heads and cam
No set plans for today. What to do? :hmm:
Trans Am wants heads and cam. Order it what it wants :dunno:
Tempting, very tempting. It may get new rear sneakers for the track first though. Track tires are going on 6 years old at this point and even though there is plenty of tread left I am guessing that new ones are warranted.
Opened up my app and half the new posts were spam. Seems to be getting pretty bad lately.
Yeah, we're getting some hits on the site these days. We clean it up as soon as we see it. :)
Kind of a lazy day. Went for a pretty good hike this afternoon on a trail up around the northeastern end of Faylor Lake. The geese are back in force around here already so Spring must be right around the corner.
I like the sound of that.
Furnace at old house is being a pain in my ass. The 31st can't get here fast enough
Track meeting was entertaining. Going to be some cool stuff happening at the Beaver this year.
Spent the day with my girls had a early lunch at Olive Garden, food shopping, spent more money on my daughter getting her a new glove for this upcoming softball season. I feel drained of all my money.
Hoping March goes by a little better. End of January my step mother got diagnosed with colon cancer and i'm trying my damnedest to keep up with her doctor stuff, along with a step sister. At age 26 i'm not ready to lose my last parent but i'm strong enough to survive it, if it's her time then I suppose god himself will take her back.
Ontop of that, having bullshit with the girlfriend. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, but sometimes I just feel like this,

LOL!
I can't wait to get my Trans Am back on the road, the crap weather needs to get over with. That car is comfort and therapeutic for me. I miss riding in it with my bud Nick too, I even let his clutch confident girlfriend have a go with it.

Surrounding yourself with the good people in your life is the best thing you can do, this situation with my step mother reminds me of this.
hmmm.....so a person will fit in the back seat. Who knew?
Cool vid, Darren. Almost looked like she was riding with her foot on the clutch pedal for the first third of the video.
Off to the garage in a bit
Have any of you guys owned or worked on a 06 Grand Prix?
My sons car has this "Reduce Engine Power" come across his display ever once in a while.
Car starts and runs the same but still not sure what the hell it is.
Codes range from bad CATS, OPSU, TBand ECM- no communication.
no communication is probably what's limping it from that list......check pcm plugs is where I would start. Not sure where the pcm is on those cars but if it's under the cowl make sure it isn't getting leaked on. I know vettes have had that problem.
it's under the air box.
There are times I think this car was in a flood.....
I was going to drag the Camaro down for some continued rehab, but with the track opening in a few weeks I think it has just been preempted by the Trans Am. Going to flush the cooling system and power steering fluid, and probably change the oil on it for starters.
Think I found where the ticking sound was coming from on my car...car had Hedman longtubes when I bought it "not the best in the world" and it looks like the weld where one of the EGR bungs was at finally gave out and it just blew the bung off...started as a tick "hairline crack probably" and now my car sounds like a 1982 Chevy Truck with exhaust and no cats...
Time for stainless long tubes and new exhaust.

Hahaha Pat I was going to suggest that but wasn't sure if you removed your egr stuff. I had a similar ticking noise last year and after using a broom handle I was able to pin it down to a gasket on the block off plate. Glad it wasn't more.
Hey, there's a hole in the header tube! :D
bondo
a competent Welder should be able to close it and not cost as much as new headers
I agree with what Scott says, but I personally wouldn't be investing any money on headers that were that old and already rusted like that.
Sadly I've seen Kooks do it also
Mornin
Happy Wednesday. Another office day for me thankfully.
Tonight's project will be replacing a steering rack on an '08 Dodge Dakota. Unfortunately, this truck spent 6-7 years of it's life up in New York State somewhere east of Buffalo. May have to get the big boy tools out on this one. :(
I have all the EGR stuff blocked off but the headers that were installed on my car before I got it still have the bungs "or had them" for the factory EGR equipment. Guess god decided I need to pollute the world a little more than usual and blew the welds :chuckles:
Lol! He is my size too, 5'11 170lbs. Wasn't too bad. That girlfriend of his is short and light, she fits perfectly lol. More room than a Mustang either way.
She knew better . Her car is manual also. He has himself a keeper.
Definitely repairable.
A skilled welder did this for me.

Spent part of the day replacing the thermostats and elements on the hot water heater. Looked like the original ones from when the house was built 10 years ago were still in the tank.
Had my furnace serviced about a month ago... it's a 1993 carrier. Knock on wood... keep on trucking furnace.
Sold my Polaris Predator 500cc. Down to just the Can Am, I can't ride two at once but I will miss being able to take any friend I want ATVing instead of just the ones with ATVs.
Spent the night out in the garage beating on a rusty '08 Dakota. Joy.
:rotfl:
Unfortunately, Carpy is just a bit too far away and there is no way I am going to seek admission into another state bar.
That is how you put a lawyer in their place
yeah....evidently you just make earning money "too much work" and they fall right in line or maybe it's the "earning" part that gets 'em.

it's a weld thing.....always the weakest part of any exhaust work.
Hey Jeff....someone is challenging Dawn

Damn
Did my good dead for the week...
Coming back from lunch and came upon a major accident. One car T-bone another. I park it just past them. 1st vehicle I come to the elderly woman is dazed and not quite sure what's going on, then I hear the woman from the other car scream "my baby"...So I shift my attention to the baby, Cute little boy of 6 weeks, nothing is wrong. Car seat did it's job, the mother on the other hand had a very broke wrist. Other ppl show up, the mother was in a little shock but besides the broke wrist, ok so I past them on to her. I go back to the elderly woman that was T-bone. She's not knowing what to do. I check to make sure if her neck is ok because I could see she hit her window. I assess she wasn't showing signs of a concussion, if so it was a mild one, so far. Next I ask her if she's hurting anywhere, she said her ribs hurt and left knee. She wanted to get out and I calmed her down some because she wasn't going to get out without a saw and or jaws of life. Both doors were pin shut and the car was bent like a u a good 18" from being true.
After about 15 mins finally the fire department, LEO's and ambulances show up. Give my assessment to the paramedics. After making my statement to the LEO's I left.
I was a Paramedic 20 yrs ago and had to quit because of my Military career was taking me overseas at the time. Amazing how it all comes back.
Good job :)
Good work, Scott.
:woo:I'm down 50lbs as of this morning from Feb 5th:woo:
:nana::nana:
I'm up 36 lbs since late Nov.
I'm down 5 lbs from 233 to 228. I'm sure I'll be back up 5lbs at least after my vacation.
Coming to my neck of the woods? WELCOME
I dropped 5 lbs......from my belly to my ass.
You're on the Brazilian diet?
He's on the Seefood diet.
I swapped my usual Friday lunchtime salad for a small stromboli with black olives today. Yum.
Evening
I'm officially a fat ass now. This is the most I've ever weighed. I'm usually 205-209. I'm 228 right now, up from 192 late last year.
Been eating these damn snacks, cookies, and chips from Sam's Club! Eating them now actually lol. FML.
Salty snacks are still my downfall. I have made it 15 months now without a can of soda and it has made a world of difference in both my weight and how I feel.
Outside at 7am this morning already have all the shutters pulled from the house so they can be repainted to match our metal roof. More power washing today starting with the house and hopefully fit the sonic in, did the Explorer yesterday put my rain gear on from work and completely did every inch under and exterior and brought it back to the brand new look before winter. Cars and coffee for a bit and back out.....
When I stopped drinking soda and stopped smoking cigarettes is when I started feeling like shit.
took the firebird for its first spin of 2016. feels good, man
:coffee: still moving slow went to a gun raffle last night with my wife and a bunch of friends, we had a great time and as usual we didn't win nothing.....$60 for tickets, $100 for walk around chances, Unlimited food and Beer with friends.......Priceless
The afternoon projects today were plugging a neighbor's tire, fixing a braking issue on a Toyota Tacoma, swapping out a set of tires on a Ford something, and fixing a leaky tire on my Twirley-Whirley. The leak ended up being porosity in the weld where the two halves of the rim are joined. Took me a while to figure that one out. Even with the wheel fully submerged in water, the air leaking out would collect in the raised center portion of the rim so I couldn't see any bubbles.
didn't do a whole lot today. laundry and shooting guns a bit.
Mark talked about going shooting again sometime soon. I have to dial in the laser on the .380 and get accustomed to its horrendously long trigger pull.
Hello it's Monday....Me go :cuss: yourself Monday.....
Afternoon
gonna put the bendix on the quad's starter today I think and I have a tail light out on the truck. Not sure how long it's been that way...just noticed it yesterday.
carpy.......didn't you used to live in New Jersey at one time? I have a chance to go hunting out there next year with Zach on some private land. Very liberal deer limits evidently and cheap to hunt. Think I'm going to do it.
Ugh. Been a busy few days here. Latest project is finishing the closet doors in the guest bedroom. I did start scrubbing on the M151A1 engine parts last night too. I think we are simply waiting on rings right now and we'll have everything we need to put it all back together.
