Has anyone else on here chirpped the tires at WOT going into 4th around 100?
I was out at the parents farm this weekend and took my cousin for a ride. It was pretty windy out and I think that may have had something to do with it. But, yeah, I chirpped the tires going into 4th at about 100. We looked at each other in amazement.
All I've done to my '00 M6 Z28 is FRA, ported MAF ends, TB bypass, K&N, and put Royal Purple throughout the driveline.
I can do it but not running 100. Just running it through the gears.
I don't expect to ever be able to do it again. I honestly think with all the wind, I may have caught a draft that made the rear end light. I don't know. :dunno:
Mine will do it on a regular basis.
what mods have you done to your car? What are you putting out at the wheels?
I can chirp 3rd..not forth, but i'm sure with 4.10s it would be easy.
i can chirp reverse
You could use some new tires
SeVeReDiStOrTiOn, I've got Goodyears on it that have about 7/32nds left on the rears.
Mine are new.Quote:

Spec 3.
Mine's stock as far as I know. I bought it late last summer with 89,xxx on it and no mods as far as I can tell.
Ya, hate it when it happens. :DQuote:

I always found it easy to chirp 4th. Those are on 235's though.:thumbdn:
my LT1 would chirp 4th every time, but not at WOT redline, just running through the gears like BigD said
that is what sold me on my 93 Formula back then...I had a $1000 deposit on a brand new 93 Cobra (thought the new fbod was hideous in the mag at the time, the pics did it NO justice) and when with a friend of mine to the Pontiac dealer to pick up a part. Then I saw it, a brand new black Formula, 6 speed, charcoal guts, 3.23 gears, oil cooler...just what I wanted. I test drove it and the gy said, go ahead...hit it. So I did...spun all of first, second, half of third and chirped 4th...I was sold, gave him 500 bux at the light....made the deal...20,315 (21,169 out the door) and the rest is history...
i think in order to chirp 4th theres lots of contributing factors separate from even engine power although you have to be putting down some real ponies as well. more then anything a really strong aftermarket clutch will make it a hell of a lot easier. the load the car is carrying, the weight distribution of the car, tire width, tire life, tire compound, rear axle ratio etc. needless to say chirping even 3rd is impressive but 4th is something to be proud of.
chirped 4th last night just to see if the LS1 could do it...Chuck didn't let me down :D
You guys have it made. I spin through 4th. I think I have a HP to traction ratio problem. :drivin: :thinkin:
you are the effing man:drivin:
power shifting?
of course.Quote:

After putting in the Mcleod kevlar it'd chirp 4th all the time. Clutch has alotta miles on it now and doesn't do it anymore, still holds 5,500 rpm dumps on ET Streets at the track tho. :yup:
I can make your moms chirp
Mine did it with a lid, catback, and 4.10's. All of my mods just added to it.Quote:

Maybe if you shift at 5k, and leave the gas on the floor until 6k and then release the clutch in 4th gear.
It might chirp then.
Oh yeah here is Mr Mouth. I have plenty of witnesses that can vouch for my car. You are the one who pops off and never backs anything up. I don't need to lie.Quote:

And you can't drive.
If you like I can post the video of your car running at commerce that day? We can all observe your inability to drive... and we can probaly make a sandwich inbetween the shifts.
