I am looking to replace my Speedline wheels with some new wheels and tires this year. I am having a hard time finding a selection to choose from. Can anybody lead me to water on this? I appreciate any help.
I am also hoping i could get some suggestions on what width or combonation of width on front and rears would look good. I have it lowered with eibach springs right now. Thanks.
Members here recommend OEWheels. Just go to their website. Other members will chime in with more suggestions.
I like Tire Rack and Ebay. If you know what you want and know the price of the set then Ebay is the way to go. Just make sure you factor in shipping. :tss:
Thanks, I will check them all out. OEWheels is one I haven't heard of. I was hoping maybe someone had some pictures of Matte Black wheels on NBM. I know black doesn't always look good, but I think a matte black or maybe if they make black chrome for our cars. I wish there were more options.
There is an NBM SS in this month's COTM section with what looks like matte black rims. Check it out.
That's a pretty nice ride. Is the blue on the Camaros, the same as the Pontiacs? What does it take to be able to vote on the COTM?
I found a set of silver C6 ZO6 wheels. Not completely decided, but I think the silver will match my charcoal racing stripes. The wheels are 18x9.5 front with 56 offset and 18x10.5 with 58 offset. How do I measure the offset? Will these fit on my WS.6? I have it lowered with Eibach springs.

i had that setup on my ws6, which was a lowered car. had to do the BFH mod and adjust the panhard bar to eliminate rubbing
Yeah I echo the above. OEWheels is great. If your dropped, you should have an adjustable panhard bar to get the centering right. It seems like our cars shift about a half inch when lowered! A lot of rims come with the wrong offset on the back, so watch that if your going wide. You can always use a spacer. Keep in mind if you have a stock rear end (10 bolt) the 18's are going to put some extra stress back there and much heavier, also more expensive tires! If your going to run 275 tires I dont think wider than 9 1/2 inches looks good, of course the 10 1/2 with 315's is real nice! I have tried different combos on mine over the years and what looked the best compaired to what performed the best was very different. I'm back on my speedlines now running 275's all around, but I am geting some C5 vette wheels in 17x9.5 this summer, the car seems to respond better with the same on all 4 corners!!!

car is not lowered anymore. lowered cars do have a lower center of gravity therefore handle better, however they don't launch as well due to suspension travel or other such thing, some techie here can explain it for u better than I ever could. the stance does look better lowered a little but I just couldn't justify the look versus the rough and often scraping ride lol.Quote:

Those are pretty nice. 12" in the back? That is pretty wide. Is there drivability issues if you go wider in the bck then the font or 17" in font and 18" in back? I am having a hard time deciding on the wheel style as it is, I would like to at least start by figuring out the wheel size I am going with. I am thinking something like 18x9 in front and 18x10 in the back. Will that bring the wheels out further than the stocker 17x9's or is going to depend on setbacks? If you are going back to stock height, I have stock OEM springs I will sell you. They had 12K miles on them when I installed my Koni 4/4's and Strano Springs.
I relocated the LCA's and installed an adj PHB, (and have my rear perfectly centetred). I talked to a lot of members and moderators before i lowered my car and they were saying that the torque arm would be fine not to change if i wasnt dragging. I am sure you know better than me, i have only had my car for 2 1/2 years and only drive it 7 months out of the year. I am still trying to decide if i should go through the trouble of raising it back up. If i don't, I will install an adj Torque arm and a relocation bracket. I will need springs if i do raise it. So i will keep you in mind, once i make my decision. Which with members help I should hopefully decide soon.
Just for additional information, the torque arm is what controls the rotational position of the rear end. When you lower the car, that changes, along with the geometry of the suspension. The pinion angle is the angle between the pinion in the rear end to the drive-shaft. OEM is typically set to around -1.5 to -2 degrees. The reason the angle is set to negative to begin with, is because upon acceleration, it becomes zero, or a straight line. This is in a perfect set-up. All of the torque is then transferred properly. If you have a pinion angle not set properly, it will cause the system to not be in a straight line upon acceleration or a launch. This can in return cause damage to the rear end itself, as well as u-joints.
So I am assuming that may have something to do with the squeaking. A good place to start anyway. I have 115k on my car. Think I should replace my u joints while I am at it? If I raise it, do you think I should replace and relocate the torque are for a stronger one anyway?Quote:

Most likely any problems coming from a poor pinion angle set-up would sound more like a clunk than a squeak.
I would check your hatch area, the shocks for the hatch, your bushings, etc...things that generally need to be lubed periodically. You can also look for contact between the exhaust and axle on the passenger side. Depending on exhaust set-up, it gets really close to contacting there.
I have seen busted OEM torque arms before. Not saying you will damage yours, but if you have the money, it's a nice upgrade to do. It will not only help control the movement of the rear end itself, but also help with traction. Just remember, get an adjustable one. Preferably get one that also relocates the front mounting off the tail-shaft of the transmission.

I decided to go with the TTM's. Probably 18's. What size and application do I need to get my wheels to come out of the wheel wells to get that wide rear end look?
The TTM's have perfect offset for the back in 10.5, and go with 315's, you will have the look you want and no rubbing!
So any idea where I can get the 10.5? I know they make an 18 x 10. I went to a well known tire store today and they said that American Racing doesn't have the 18 in anything other than 8's, event though its show multiple sizes in their 2013 Catalog. I want 18x9 in front and 18x10 in the back.Quote:

Another wheel I have been eyeing is the Weld RT/S as featured on GMHTPs STiKiller. You might want to check those out as well.
OEwheels to get a set of factory style replicas in deep dish for sure, I'm getting a set of 11" deep dish chrome ZR1's to run some 315 MT's and match the ones I already have so I only have to buy the two. The front offset is 34 and the rear is 45. My stock offset is 55. So I think that will bring the backs out 1"-1 1/4" and the fronts out maybe 3/8". I didn't add the increase in rim size for the 10 inch rims, in that case you would have another inch to take into account. figure you would have to add .50 inches to the amount of distance the rear would stick out
Does anybody know if the Boss 338's will fit on our cars wit the 5x4.75 bolt pattern. I saw them on one of our cars, but on the Boss website it does show the right fitment. I don't get it. If not, these are my two options. Im looking for opinions on which way to go. So I decided on the c6 zo6 deep dish replicas. Two more decisions to make while I wait for them to get in. They are back ordered a month.
1) 18x8.5 in front with 18x10.5 in the back or
17x8.5 in front with 18x10.5 in back
2) what size of nitto nt05's to get with them
Any suggestions
Option 1: 255/35ZR18 front-295/30ZR18 rear
Option 2: 255/40ZR17 front-295/30ZR18 rear
That's my guess.
go 9.5x 18 or 17 up front with 275's 8.5s look really thin. IMO
I agree, 8.5 looks real thin. The front should be 9 or 9.5 on our cars, unless your looking for that 1/4 mile drag look! They won't corner very well either especially if your going wide on the back. 275 up front 315 in the back is the way to go.

so the c6 zo6 I will have to go to a 17 to get 9.5 wide. So it would be 17x9.5 in front and 18x10.5 in back. Does anybody do the staggered diameter front and back? do you guys like the way it looks? does anybody have any pics of the setup? i appreciate any body that can help. it has been such a spain finding wheels.

Don't like the way those DD C6z06 wheels look in 17"s. If you go to oewheels site you can find plenty of pictures in the trans am customer showcase. Or visit the oewheels thread on ls1tech and find hundreds of pics and probably answers to most of your questions.
