Post up what camshaft you are running and add whatever extra info you like. for example stall choice or clutchs.
Since there are so many choices out there and different people wanting different things, I thought this write up might help people in the future with choosing a cam for there car. Thanks.
building a set of 243 heads, will use a Torquer V2.
Full bolt ons
LS7 clutch
04 GTO.
255/263 .624/.624 115 lsa cam, 12.56:1 compression 408 stroker, full timing on pump gas, Edelbrock proflo intake, 60lb injectors, milled/ ported 241 heads, 3" dual exhaust.....was an a4 with 4,000 stall, but in my garage getting an old saginaw 3 speed, Ford 9" with 4.56 gears, tubbed and 31-18.50 15's under the back...can't wait to get it back together :)
Texas Speed Torquer V2, ported 806s and a Callies compstar 383 stroker kit, Yank SS 3600 and a Strange S60 Detroit truetrac and 4.10s. No times with the new rear yet but with the stock 10 bolt and 3.23s it went 11.8 @ 114 with a 1.67 60.
I loved my Torquer V.2 in my H/C/I 5.7L LS1. Great DD cam, imo. Pulled hard through the entire powerband.
When I had my 427 LS3 built, I had a custom cam ground after the Torquer V.2, but with a little more lift and duration to compliment the extra cubes.
ASA Cam 226 / 236 @.525 110 LSA set up with a 3500 stall and 3.73 gears. This set up doesn't make ass tons of power but its good for low 12s.
228R great power, amazing sound. Frost told me it was a very easy cam to tune.
I went with the TSP 233/239 cam. A lot of people use the torquer v2 or the 228r
I went with TR 230, nice for daily driver, sounds good at red lights.
G5X3 on a 114 for my newest m6 build. I have ran this came in other cars and can't compare to sound or performance imo.
Havent installed it yet but got a LG Motorsports G5X2 on a 114 LSA...probably going to run some ported 241's w/ it.
stock...cant beat the reliability..and the cost...plus theres nothin like a dyno sheet proving you got a stock cam and hp numbers...and not having to have a stall or upgraded springs or intake or all that dumb stuff that makes everyone go faster than me... stock cam ftw?
Ms4 with Pcr stage 2.5 ls6 heads 9" moser with 430s stage 2 m6 monster stage 3 clutch full suspension in rear an a 100 shot

6.0 LQ4, Manley rods & pistons, TSP Torquer V2, PRC 5.3 Ported Heads, Spec stage 2 clutch. Motor is currently at the shop getting pieced together for my 3rd gen lsx swap.

228r seems to be a popular cam, thinking on getting that for mine...
I didn't get the dyno sheet but the TA put down 378rwhp and about the same for TQ.
I put down 445rwhp and 395rwtq through a T56 and Moser 9".
Torquer V.2 cam, Stage 2.5 5.3L Heads, and a FAST90/90 setup.

Thanks Mark! Its around stock compression. It has pacesetter headers, pacesetter ORY and magnaflow catback.
this is my 02 z28 with the ms4 cam, yank ss3600 stall and UMI full rear suspension SFC torque arm relocation, lowered with summit springs. Best time so far a 7.76 at 93 mph with a 1.7 60ft on street tires. still needs tuning. Exhaust is Pacesetter LTs with true duals and glasspacks at the axle.

this is my 00 SS. not real sure what cam is in it because supposedly it was bonestock with the exception of SLP longtubes. I changed the exhaust to True duals,x-pipe and glasspacks and it really opened the car up and ran 100% better. No times yet for this one but when the track opens up ill have some for sure

and it pulled like a freakin freight train from the time the converter grabbed till about 6,500
.25x/.26x .66X 115 ......if I remember correctly. Headed into cam #3 early 2012.

My 408 is wicked as hell.....I couldn't imagine a 460 lol. Sounds like we have about the sane came other than your a little higher on lift (mine is .624 lift) I never had mine on a dyno, but with my Edelbrock proflo it pulled right up to my 8,000 rpm fuel cut.....what intake are you running, and if you had yours on a dyno what rpm did it start to drop off? For $369 I absolutely love my intake, but to run it in an F-body I think you might half to even notch the windsheild. (10.75" tall)Quote:

Anyone run a vrx4? Looking to take the spray off my street car and go cam only
Why not run the vxr4 and spray? It would be a good all around street/ strip cam, plus being under .600" lift your valve springs would last a good long time being just a good set of beehives like the PAC springs.
I'd recomend it for a good bump in power over a stock cam, and with an ok tune would still have very good street manners......first I went with a 220/224 (it was too small for my taste), then stepped up to a 238/242 (I liked it, but probably too big for most people to like on the street)
Well the spray will be going on the black racecar I just bought. Not looking for something huge or crazy and not looking to make a billion hp. Just good solid all around cam that I can have fun with. And I was looking at going bigger with their trickflow head/vrx cam kit for the racecar and wanted to try the little one out first.
That's the only problem.....the term "streetable" is SO subjective to personal taste lol, but I think you are more like me and like your setups mildly bitchy, and on the more aggresive side
Looked that intake up. Its nice but not so nice that i would spend what there asking for it.

Out of curiousity, what intake would you have gone with that allowed these heads (Mast Inline) and cubes to perform as they should in addition to packaging under a 4th gen cowl?
Im not knocking your build by no means. quite the opposite really its good seeing something different. Thats what i was going getting at by comparing your build to the 32v small block heads. Something thats not been done already or not done as commanly often seen as a Fast intake.
Me personally i build on a budget. i go with what works and still gets me down the track that i can afford. That engine you have cost probably half what my house does.
