really depends on what you want. just check the value on each and compare it to the price. decide if you want ragtop or t-tops. ceta's are beautiful to me. i would go for that if it was my money. how often would you ride with the top down on a vert?
Same miles, same price, same condition? CETA all day. Rarer, probably cleaner.
Alot is coming down to personal preference, too. Like Mike mentioned, do you like a the look/use of a vert? I personally don't when the top is up, but down is ok. It looks too Sunday-driverish to me, not as sporty, but that's my opinion. Also, t-tops are enough "openness" for me. Try taking them both for a spin with the tops off and see which one you like better. Rag tops need to be taken care of, you don't want them to go bad. Seals can go on the t-tops, but I would rather have that happen than have to replace the rag top. Also in the personal department is the color, if I get a different one, I would go CETA or even SOM, because black is a pain in the ass to keep up. Every flaw in your paint will be exposed in the sun.
Vert parts can be different from coupe parts too, just as an FYI. Also, some people might tell you vert's have less torque than coupes, but I think it's negligible until you start to seriously mod.
i live in Miami, so the top would be down more. but not sure if the t-tops are not just about the same?
T-tops are not the same. But they're good enough for me.
is it going to be a daily driver?
I dont think you have to wonder which way I will vote w/my sunday driver do you ...:naughty:

I have seen some nice cetas but that stock yellow to me, is hideous :barfonu: and I like a lot of yellows, but not that one, but to each their own. Black is classic in any form.
ceta, remove decals
>2002
>WS6
>convertible
>black
oh if it was a six speed it would already be mine. otherwise, an automatic convertible has it's stigmas, and I would go for the CETA, or just keep looking..
I would feel guilty DD'ing a CETA
Easy. Pick the one w/ the 6-speed. If they both have M6, pick the top you like (you can't see the exterior very well from behind the steering wheel). Why not find a 'vert CETA?
Nope, the black 'vert is rarer than the CETA 'vert.Quote:

Verts require a bit more maintenance but damn they are fun to drive when the weather is nice! My opinion there are plenty of babied CETAs out there. I see more CETAs on the road where I live than WS6 Verts. Now a black vert looks great but if the interior is also black on a sunny day with the top down it is a lot like sitting in a frying pan. My neutral color interior hasn't burned me yet even on pretty hot days. Get whatever will make you happy and quick asking someone else!
I didnt really like my vert. Someone cut it up trying to break in. Then when i had it replaced the window was not sealed right, and it dry rotted in a matter of months. But I did get a lot of attention with it! http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...1/IMG_2187.jpg
I'm pretty Fond of black but I hate verts so.. CETA for me as well. I've actually never seen one in person where I live or anywhere in Ohio or ny short of a car show. But as someone else said, I'd feel guilty DDing one. They look sharp though.
Of course none of this matters. Your call, we're not all going to agree.
Come up here to Milwaukee and I will solve your problem. There is a Poncho dealer with a CE vert 6 speed. it has been sitting for a while and the weather isn't getting any warmer!
Ceta.
Ceta has my vote
I have a 02 vert ws6 manual and there were less of those built than the ceta verts so just my 2 cents (by they way its for sale)

there were in fact more M6 WS6 'verts built in 2002 than were CETA M6 'verts, (1,176 2002 WS6 verts had M6 - 554 'vert CETAs with M6 (all of which are WS6 as well) = 622) but I would be willing to bet that there are far more M6 CETAs that are in one peice today considering they are generally seldom driven.
"I do belive that their was only 72 or fewer pewter ws6 manual verts made witch a ceta is just paint wheels and badges."
...and headrests, trophy mat, floor mats and documentation - and it was the Daytona 500 pace car in 2002 - and the CETA convertibles were the parade cars at California.
...and if CETAs are "just" paint, wheels and badges - what the heck are Pewter 'verts?
Just paint.
CETA all day every day. I've only ever see one in person. And T-tops are more than enough for me, I do not desire an open top. Plus I like the look of a hardtop so much more. And that yellow:drool:
My 2002 35th LE Camaro SS is also just decals, badges, custom interior, custom wheels, Camaro Berger panel inserts, floor mats, trophy mat, and documentation. In the end, a car is a car.
If you're looking to own it to some day turn around and sell it for a profit when it actually becomes more of a collectible, then get the CETA and plan on keeping it ALL ORIGINAL and LOW MILES. Doesn't sound like this is an option for you if this is going to be your DD.
I personally would never own a vert. Mainly because of my location and weather. I think t-tops are a great substitute and I am also a big fan of still having that somewhat "hard top" look. However, you live in Miami where it's a lot warmer more of the year.
Indeed. Just paint. But it doesn't change the fact that there are fewer Pewter WS6 'verts built in '02 than yellow WS6 'verts.
But will the increased rarity of the pewter paint make a pewter 'vert hold its value better than a yellow one? No. All of the other aforementioned extras that come w/ the yellow paint will certainly more than offset the rarity factor of the pewter paint and result in slower depreciation over the years.
But this example illustrates why I never believed paint color should really play into a car's "rarity factor", at least for the purposes of estimating depreciation rates or resale values. Only in extremely rare examples (such as the one-year purple and gold WS6s) should the rarity of a paint color weigh heavily into the value of a car. A commemorative edition (such as a 30th and CETA), despite higher production volume, will easily out-weigh the paint rarity factor.
Im not trying to make it sound like my car is more valuable or more rare I was just trying to point out he would have more fun with a none ceta.

i think you should go with what you like,,, your driving it. both are very nice cars... for me, i would buy the black vert. the yellow does not look as good. coupe or vert!!
I personally think you should buy my SOM '02 M6 Non-T/C 'vert. There were only 30 made in this color combo. It would look awesome cruisin' around down by the beaches with the top down. The SOM doesn't let the car get TOO hot in the sun, ( even though it has the black interior) but all you have to do is hit the "loud pedal" and enjoy the breeze through your hair (?). Ain't nothing better than a 'vert.:drivin:
Coming from a ceta owner, its a hate/love relationship when it comes to the color scheme. People will either tell you how beautiful the car is or that syle of yellow is pale and gross. Ive always liked it, so therefore i bought one.
Where ever you travel in a ceta you will get noticed, thats for damn sure.
