So yesterday i try to get my inspection sticker on my t/a but they fail me do to my bad hand break, the thing is so bad that i can raise it up and still go like normal... i'm getting ready to swap out my rear break pads because i know there shot, i can tell the car only breaks with the front pads. My question is, will changing the rear break pads help my hand break. Wen i did the change on my camaro it help it, but i also change the rotors so i dont know. Thanks for any help.
the e brake shoes are separate from the rear brake pads. Have you adjusted them? The adjusters are at the bottom. I wll suggest to remove the rotor and look at the ebrake shoes. If they look like they have enough material on them, then start moving the adjuster until you can get the rotors back in with almost no trouble. Then test your e brake again.
Mine was the same way and all i did was adjust them.

supposedly you can push the button, and lift and lower the handle 3 or 4 times without letting off the button, and itll tighten the cable up.
That is correct but it only works if the adjusters are not shot. Give it a try, if it doesnt work you will have to do it manually by removing the rotors.Quote:

Mine used to do the same thing. Would go all the way up and the car would still roll back a little bit down my driveway. Turned out the previous owner never adjusted the parking brake when he replaced the pads. My parking brake shoes looked brand new. I adjusted them and no more issues. I recently replaced all 4 rotors and now my parking brake lever clicks 4 times when I lift it.
i did R1 concept rotors, and hawk pads up front, about to do the rears
The park brake "pumping" action rarely works if ever..
Imho,, I would just tear them down and see what you've got and go from there..
yep! it dint work lolz i allready order some ceramic pad's anyways so ill just tear it down and see what i got to work with.
OK. And if the parking brake shoes are worn, order those as well.
is swapping e-brake shoes just like doing regular pads?

Once you remove your rear rotor you will see the e brake shoes. As far as I know just remove the 4 bolts holding it to the rear end and unhook the ebrake cable and it comes out.Quote:

@ spikito i would check if your e-brake shoes are still fine wen your in there so u wont do the work twice.
well i fix it and past inspection i just had to adjust them with a flat heade screw driver... nice!

is like a adjustable gear that u move with a flat head screw driver take the caliper off then the rotor and lay on your back you will see it on the hub at the bottom

yeah, ive spent the last two days outside buidling a dog house...i need to be working on the car but i just cant bring myself to it. mainly i need to swap the belt, with all that rain its started squeeling
yep mine does the same thing but i have to swap out a tensioner

yeah that's the only people that go out (sad i know) that's why we need more f-bodies lol rite now is me with my NBM z28, my girl with her Black t/a and one off my buddies with his Pewter t/a and some times this cam z06 goes (beast!) another z06, red t/a pewter t/a but is kinda rare wen they come out :( i got a lot off buddies that got hondas, but there cool more into performance then looks witch i like.

my friend also has this turbo integra pushing like 400hp! his always out there, he race jack on his z06 before the cam and my buddy's 99 z28 and smoke them both. That little car is super fast i race him once and got him but he dint hook up (he spins at 70!!)
i hung out with a bunch of those guys once, i think the supra was there...i think i was the only N/A guy.
I dont know jack THAT well, we have a mutual friend.
I bought his stock heads and cam when he upgraded them, sold the cam, but I'm gonna rework the heads and use them with a bigger cam
how much did he sale them to you? but yeah your better off with a bigger cam for all that work, i mean if you have a 01 ls1 and up you pretty much have a ls6
I think I paid $550 for the heads with valves and springs, cam, and pushrods, sold the cam and pushrods for $175
mines an 00, but the previous owner bought an LS6 intake, which he gave to me, so it will also be on the car soon.
Ive seen a few other people with similar set ups to what im going with, theyve put down 390-420 at the wheels, id be happy with 400. Hopefully thats about where ill be since these are real 243 heads, and not AFR or patriot, im sure they put out a littel more power, and im going with a more conservative LSA on my cam.
yep a 228 cam will do you good with that ls6 intake.. i got 243 heads and ls6 intake on both my f-bodie's from the factory :) but if i would do i bigger cam ill probably will also do a intake and heads. (to much money for me) im happy were my car's are at for the moment.
im going with a 230 cam, lol torquer V2 from texas speed

yeah, its a little on the high side for a DD, but as long as you keep the LSA low, youll be alright
