New SOM SS

Well as of today the WS.6 was sold, been a hell of a car but i've always wanted an SS. Finally found a decent candidate, 2001 sunset orange SS one owner car, almost 97k on it. Its a hardtop, cloth interior, no traction control, only options are power windows/locks.

Interior is near perfect, all it needs is a new dash pad. Exterior is pretty clean, small nicks here and there but very minimal, headlights need cleaning up. Biggest issues are clutch hydraulics are bad, and rear main seal is leaking oil. Should make out to be a real nice car once i get to it.

Been pretty well taken care of, looks like it's never been cleaned under the hood before though

Nice score. Looks like the driver side was jacked up in the wrong spot too.

Yep i saw that when i was checking it out yesterday, the tab underneath needs to be bent pack in its original place. Really loving the color

And I had my fun with wheels, when i had my 98 Z28 i went through a bunch of different style wheels before i found the iforged wheels.

stock, SS 10 spokes, C5 magnesium, weld draglites, C5 thin spokes, then iforged
all in one year

Just not sure if i wanna stick them on this car or not

one other thing i noticed on yours..is the fucked up tint... mine had it the same as yours but took it off and put new tint on it..

Mine was like that too.
I went for 20% on the sides and 5% on the back. Is looks good.

Try to take it off b4 you go. Cuz they charge you to remove it. And sometimes is more expensive than doin the tint again

I'm gonna try and get most of it off myself, mainly the sides. Not sure how bad the back window is gonna be to take off but I'm gonna do my bbest and whatever is left the tint place will take care of

Yes and no. Dash and trim is ebony' carpet and seats are dark grey with a patterned insert. Not crazy about the seats but they're extremely lean and so is the carper for a 10 year old car

It takes some time to take it off. But is worh it.

With a steamer remove the film.
With some steel wool remove the glue.
It tool bout 30 min for the back window in my car.

On my The tint was also messed up. Look pure. Foe the sides I used razor blades. Took me 20 per window.
But at the end you have your fingers messed up and hurting alot.

Should clean up real nicely. You do seem to like your projects:D

nice score bro! when i removed my tint, i bought some spray, check autozone or a parts store. was really easy; spray on then you get a trashbag and spread it evenly over the wet window, let dry for like a minute and just peel off. worked in one go for me. but dont use it if you have a rear defroster on the back window.

Thanks for the compliment. Ill try the wheels one day, but without cutting grinding and rolling the rears wouldn't even get close to fitting. Time will tell, gonna go online and go parts crazy tonight though I can tell you that.

Yeah, hopefully i get around to checking yours out as well. I'll let you know how the clutch goes, read pretty good things about it, little chatter in the break in period but it's supposed to be a really nice setup. And yep, this one reminds me a lot of my Z, fills the void pretty good.

Been working late nights so haven't had a whole lot of time to do much. Spent Sunday washing, polishing, and sealing the paint so the paint looks pretty damn good but I really need to get to the headlights. Cluth, master, and slave came in the mail today. Should be going in Thursday, work has me so busy I'm having it done by my mechanic. Also haven't gotten ay pics since I lent my camera out. Ill get some with my friends camera later though, promise :yup:

well they are on the way / are in the process of being ordered and will be on the car soon. i like my LM1 but i know it wont sound good with headers. im fine with my bilsteins but konis are always better haha

American Racing y-pipes have a pretty nice merge from what i've seen

Used 2 rags, and a bottle of heavily diluted purple degreaser. Took a while but it got the job done.
Still gotta take a pressure cleaner to the engine, lots of dirt and grime under the coil brackets but i'm happy with it for now

Looks good man. I'm afraid to take the front fascia off like that, afraid I'll find a rabid raccoon or a pack rat, something stupid to go along with my broke ass power steering and my broke ass ankle :lol: :monkey: But, I digress. You did a great job bringing that car's potential out. :thumbup:

I've debated both, probably gonna get a spare berger panel to try it out. As for the grill I like the slp one but I almost like it better without a grill at all

Of course. Eventually the bumper might need some paint so it would be a perfect time to smooth out the tabs

I do like that look, not crazy about the headlights but the rest flows pretty well. I may order a decal like that and try it out. The color is just so nice I hate to cover it up lol

if you did the grille like pictured above, added the hood decal, painted the berger panel, CME, lowered it like u are planning, and had some nice wheels the car would look awesome IMO.

didnt notice the side molding. i'd remove that if possible. look much cleaner without.
