Hello people!
Looked through the posts and didn't see any that would clear my problem.
So the problem is that before putting my car to winter sleep, made a little fast driving, to make last fun, but when I made full throttle the car started to spit and stuggle when I reached 130 kmph. Spark plugs are new, spark wires are good. What could be the problem? Some say it's ignition?!

What engine do you have in your third gen?
stock 305 cu in (5.0 L) Chevrolet V8
sounds like ignition issue...do those cars have a govoner?
^^^If they do have a governor, it wouldn't be shutting it down at such a low speed.
OP, have you checked fuel pressure? Is yours carbureted?
sounds like a fuel or air issue... could also be a clogged cat... i wonder if the throttle blades are sticking???
Yes I have carburetor. Sorry for my English, haven't used to write specific car parts.
And how to check the fuel pressure? Do I need some specific tools?

It's a little hard to tell without actually driving the car, but if it was a spark plug/wire/distributor issue, it'd most likely show up at lower speeds as well. A clogged fuel filter would act like you descrbe, as well as a partially cogged convertor. Your car has a catalytic convertor?
Well it's there (catalytic convertor), but there's nothing inside it anymore. The car was standing for about 5-6 years before I got it and started to repair and drive. And this problem started after one meeting where I tested the engines Hz - full throttle in parking - just gas to the floor.
So I will check the fuel filter and ignition. Is there some manuals how can I find out if the ignition is positioned correctly?
Probably somewhere online but I don't know where. You should look to see how to check the ignition timing on the car, to be sure it is set properly.

Carburator could need rebuilt after sitting.
The excellerator pump plunger would get hard after sitting in old gas for a long period of time in the old days..
Put a new fuel filter in it. The housing is where the fuel line goes into the carb. It will cut out and do the things you mentioned when this happens

If the car had been sitting five years or one year the gas was nothing but trouble.the gunk that use to be gas was traveled to the fuel filter and may be the carburator. I would change the fuel filter.check and see if there is one in the fuel line and hope that there is one in or near the the carb.If so you may be in luck and only have to change the filters .If not, you may need to rebuild the carburator.Old gas will kill a carburator quick. If you have to rebuild the carb, Clean the gas tank also so you want have this to happen again.i'm not sure but there may be a filter in the fuel tank. If it is, you will have to drop the tank anyway.Quote:

Wanted to say thank you!
Made few repairs to the car - as it showed up my spark wires were a disaster. My ignition is still a bit out of correct angle, but will try to fix it some time soon. And my fuel filter was - well "dirty" to say nice. Haven't tested the car yet - it started to snow again, but I think this will do it. If the problem will persist then, well I'm looking forward to buy error code diagnostic tool. But not to hurry. I'll give a message after the test run.

Few minutes ago tested my car. And made 160 km/h with no problems, so the issue is realy solved! But the problem was not the fuel filter in gas tank, but fuel filter in carburettor. That's just note. Anyways thanks again and let the rides never stop! :)
