2011 M3 vs 01 Z28

Raced against a 2011 M3 Convertible with the DSG Tranny. The car shifts blazin quick and figured i would be f*cked as soon as i was gonna shift into the next gear. We raced from about 55mph to about 117-118mph. I was shocked i was able to pull on him, first run i let him go first since i cant hear his honks or his motor which was a mistake, didnt know when he went WOT and i went late. The other run since again i cant hear the horn i downshifted and tapped the throttle a bit and had a slight jump and he went WOT. Both races came out to be the same i got about a car length on him on both runs.

vid or it didn't happen!

nah... he was thinking "my car is still worth more" like they usually do...

For some reason it gives me an error when it tries to upload it, just says upload is not found.

Ok sorry for the delay had to get to work and do this. These vidz are done on a Iphone so sorry for the view and the bad quality.

This vid which is titled as part 2 i had a slight jump on him since i cant hear him go or hear any honks to begin with.

This is the other vid were he goes first i hesitate for a couple of seconds and then start pulling which is part 1.

I didn't think it would have been so one sided, even though those were pretty short.

ya i pull faster and faster as the speeds get higher, i dont know if its all the mods ive done but the SSRA i dont think would help that much.

very nice, I expected you to win but defiantly wasn't expecting you to pull away that hard

nice man... i like the way your car sounds... u had the cutout open?
u have cats??

ya for sure the cut out was open and no cats. I might in the near future put on a electric cut out so i can close it. Im getting older and the sound is a little annoying sometimes.

nice man... im sure with no cats LTs and the cutout,,its very loud..

have u ever get pulled over cuz its loud?
just wondering..

No not at all, alot of times ive gotten the thumbs up by the local police. Im sure i will eventually get a officer that will get very annoyed and give me a fix it ticket if not worse but ive had 5 camaro's so far and knock on wood nothing yet but youll never know. Usually the ones they love to write tickets for is 4 bangers and V6 cars for some reason.

haha got love that man,,,
here in my area they trip alot bout exhaust noise... some times they even send you to the CHP for inspection,,

my friend on his 00 gt had to go for inspection,,
i have a friend he got pulled over twice on his 00 sw6.. he has the same setup you have on the exhaust
the cops pulled him over to ask him what he got on the exhaust just cuz they like the way it sounds..

All in how you drive, never been bothered for my duals or the smell my car emits when pulled over.

decibel meter measures the level of noise. Max legal limit is like 95 haha. It smells like gas mostly because my car was tuned open loop rather than closed (Something i'm going to fix in the near future). Get a closed loop tune cats and it don't smell any different, you can even pass smog if a tech doesn't see the longtubes.

Sorry for the thread jack karpetcm:cheers:

Wow that was a pure smackdown, you pulled right away. I knew you'd beat him, but not so bad.

My friend who is into M3's came by yesterday and looked at the vid and he's like the M3 wasnt even trying. He was doing 80 MPH, lol. Im like ya he was doing 80 after he hit the brakes and slowed down at the end of the vid. We planned this for a couple of months, after the race he was a bit pissed and is looking to modify his car and do another couple of runs. I was very shocked i beat him and believe me i was telling him there is no way my car can pull on the new M3. I drove it several times, it pulls hard top end. Also in defense of the M3 and his owner it is a new car and once it gets a few more miles on it im sure it will do better.

I assume you didn't spray for the runs?

I'd like to run a new M3 in my GC. I'm trapping about what they do stock.

No, if i did the outcome would've been pretty bad for the M3. Dont even have it installed yet. After racing the Vette i might have to step it up this month and finally get it installed.
