Almost got literally killed

I was taking my wife to work in her car today (My car is getting tuned). We were driving down a 4 lane highway in my town when some dude pulls out in the right lane and almost hits me (I was in the left lane.) I pass him, and he ends up behind me.

I look in my rearview, and this guy is tailgating me like crazy. I was going 5 over the speed limit so there's really no good reason for him to tailgate me. There were cars in the other lane, so I couldnt pull over to let him pass me, and he couldnt get over to go around me. We came up to a stoplight which turned yellow so I slow down because I am not going to make it before it turns red. By no means did I brake check him. I'm thinking "There's plenty of room for him to stop." The F150 proceeds to Slam into my wife's car at about 20MPH and push us out almost into the intersection where the cross traffic is doing 60+MPH. My neck hurts like hell. Luckily he had insurance and a driver's license, so her car will get fixed and I will get them to pay for my doctor's bill. He is extremely lucky that

1. He did not injure my wife
2. I wasnt driving the WS6.

Sorry for the long post.

Make sure you get your neck looked at thoroughly. Alot of times there is perminent pain that comes back down the road. Make sure you let them know how long it hurts. Living with that pain sucks!

I probably would have slapped him across the face. I try not to have road rage and when people ride my ass i just slow down and chuckle to my self but when a 5,500lbs denali rides my ass to the point he is just inches away from my back tire when im riding my 600rr that sends me over the edge. And then I have to slam that person on the ground and put my elbow in there throat in a KFC/A&W parking lot off the freeway exit. My thinking is if there is a huge traffic jam and we have to slam on our brakes there is no way in hell that truck is gonna stop as fast as my bike.

Luckly he had insurance and your family and your WS6 are ok.

I get azzholez like that on my tail I slow down as much as possible just in case something like this happens then the damage will be minimal.

Plus it generally pizzez them off :chuckles:

I would have gone to jail for battery if he hurt my Wife from being stupid. The WS6, i would have been pissed but cars can be replaced.

Yes, yes car can be replaced, but there just somethign about senseless stupidity that makes me go insane when it effects my life. Such as a car being damaged or totaled and my whole day basically haulted because your a jackass.

He was apologetic. The best part is I was still in my work uniform so when the guy saw that I am a Sheriff's Deputy he said "Oh Shit"

cool, i didnt know you were a deputy. man, you should have gave him the third degree about tailgating or at least made sure he got a ticket for careless driving.

I didn't have to; My wife was going off on him. I couldn't get a word in lol. He got some tickets from the GPD Officer that came out there. Thanks, We are both just a little sore.

lol wow.. Im with zinergy in his previous posts though, i would of full blown out kicked his ass. Thats insane man. Im glad your ok and have calm nerves. I have a tailgating story. I was riding along the beach around 2 AM and no cars or anything in sight, well this guy is a buick comes out of no where and im already doing like 5-8mph over the speed limit. I think it was 35mph.. Well he comes up real fast and starts tailgating me like crazy, so i speed up a little more, there are no cars out so he could of went around me right then, but he doesnt. He tailgates me for a good 5 miles so i decided to slow down to about literally 15mph, he still rides my ass for another 2-3 miles when he finally trys going around me i punch it. He would of never got around me if his life depended on it. Well after that he gets off my ass and does the speed limit. Theres A LOT of assholes on the road.

I vary my reaction based on the vehicle I'm in. When I still had the Z, I would shift in to neutral and kick the throttle while braking to wake them up and let them know they're WAY TOO CLOSE! In my wife's car, I try to get out of the way, first by speeding up, then by moving. In my Jeep, I just straight up hit the brakes: I have a steel offroad bumper on the back, so it should total anything short of a Mack truck :rotfl: :lol:
