Mad Max and Motorhead .. what could be better
Travis Barker is so lame. Here's a guy who can actually play.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1n0xiKy1zz0&feature=related[/ame]
that guy is good but i dont think that it was as good as barker though that guy just looks like he has no feelings for the music. Travis even swapped a drum stick during the song.

keyboard guitar wow now thats the 80s. Those guys are good probably would like it better if i could understand what she is saying. Oh and it helps alot that she is nice to look at!!

Do not watch with full mouth ...
Haha. Win ^^.
The official name for it is a keytar. Synthpop has been making a comeback in the last few years :)
And technically it's just her; The other two guys are only for the live show because she can't play that many different instruments at once  She also mentioned that having a loud, real drum set creates an exaggerated sound that makes for a much better live experience, compared to the lighter drum machine beats on the track recordings of the songs.
In so far as drummers are concerned this guy kicks ass on all you shown so far. Then again that's just my opinion. I've only been playing drums for 45 years (give or take). If you just want to watch the drum solo then go to ~4:50.
Also, this was from around 82 or so.

Same guy (Akira Jimbo) different song, with just the drum solo. Not very well synched but good to listen to. This was circa 1983.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4F2SwXa_oI&feature=related[/ame]
Same guy 25 years later. Good example of 4-way independence.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8sF6BCAg1w&feature=related[/ame]
Even more. This guy's my favorite.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH3tkGViAPY&feature=related[/ame]
Using drum triggers to play everything on this song. Let's see Travis do this...

These were posted in the comments area:
tjobrien323 Now how ironic is it that this vid has only10,000 hits while that traves barker piece of crap has over 2 million!!!!!
skater15153 who the hell knows man...people are fucking stupid. How people think barker is a great drummer is beyond me...
Sorry bud but that's the truth...
never said that he was the greatest ever just said that he is good and one of my favorite instrument players...
joey jordinson of slip knot is pretty good to

Hey man if you like Barker that's cool. Some of the drummers I've listened to were not technically too intricate but as long as they work within the band that's all that matters.
BEST DRUMMER ON THE PLANET!!!!
Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater.. and now drummer for Avenged Sevenfold.
most drummers of any music genre will admit Mike Portnoy is the best... Followed by Neal Pert

two of my favorite drummers:
Scott Rockenfield of Queensryche
Dave McClain of Machinehead
dont really like that kinda drumming ibanez7.. To me its kinda Drum Overkill ...
Carbon Leaf: - Seen them live 6 times
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIzrOFbVsgA[/ame]
DMB - have yet to see live
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-TtHCJm44s[/ame]
Stephen Kellogg - seen twice and have tickets for a few weeks from now again
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4S5V-5-JAY[/ame]
Collective Soul - Seen them twice
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m0bI82Rz_k[/ame]
Blues Traveler - saw them once - my first concert at Red Rocks
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGHZEPXILgA[/ame]
Celtic Woman - saw them twice last year - awesome shows
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEpX2BcB9As[/ame]
I also like most of the 80s rock bands, but I'm not much into what most of the people here like. a7x, disturbed, korn, ICP, etc. - not a fan at all but everyone seems to like them. Screamo does nothing for me.
Celtic Woman sound kinda like The Corrs ...
fail. Neil Pert isn't even on the radar anymore. Drumming has evolved.Quote:

No way someone can need that many drums ..
I'd still post Peart as my favorite drummer. Great to watch.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYiFrb7tWEM[/ame]
And he plays the mini-piano thing, too.
I don't know if posting singers is okay and I won't post my favorite because his music is even more soft rock than the good song above.

Ibanez: Ask your drummer -Any drummer worth their salt can play quads (LH, RH foot, foot - some folks start with the RH) and 6's (LH, RH, LH, RH, foot, foot - some start with the RH) which is what Portnoy is doing a lot. Don't get me wrong as I like him and what Dream Theater has done (I own all they've put out and I've seen them twice).
But I'd rather be a master at playing drums with 4-way independence and have the ability to play open handed (both of which I currently am practicing at).
Even at my age (old dog for sure) you can learn new tricks.
If you wonder what I'm referring to (open handed and 4-way independence in a drummer) then check out what I posted on page 1.

Try the "No human capo" version. Kid shreds doing it via hammer tones...
Paul Gilbert is beast [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ES1RypBww_g[/ame]

Racer X? Don't forget I'm old and originally from Los Angeles...
Of course I know who Paul Gilbert is. Master of the arpeggios on the guitar...
And I listened to KNAC all the time...
And I got to see him play at the Roxy when I went to see a friends band play. I was an instant convert.
I used to listen to Racer X. Saw their drummer Scott Travis play with Judas Priest. He shred ass.
Do you mind if I ask how old you are?
While I'd heard them get some airplay on 105.5 KNAC (motto: If it's too loud then you're too old! - I was in my 30's at the time), I got to see Racer X play at the Roxy in 88 (87? 89? I forget. Late 80's anyway). They were playing on the same day my youngest sisters boyfriends band (Missouri Fox) was playing. Like I said I was an instant convert. Back in the day you could go to most clubs on the Hollywood Strip any day of the week and see 4-5 bands play 1 set each.
39.
Was watching some of his instructional vids .. Seems like a cool guy with crazy sense of humor ...
none taken mang
LOL! Racer X...
Now there's a blast from the past! I use to listen to all there stuff along with just about all the other shrapnel recording artists.. cool.
Now this guy isn't exactly a shredder so to speak but man....His playing has always inspired me...
Been playing 22 yrs now and I try to throw my heart AND balls into my playing like Gary... Still got some more wood shedding to do though...
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWp-Mazmf88"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWp-Mazmf88[/ame]
And then...no matter what singer he has in his band,or how many people have taken what he started to new levels,I think the most original, influential, genuine, inovative and creative guitarist to hit the planet would have to be...
As cliche' as it might be...
My hero on the guitar Edward Van Halen... (as if you didn't know by my avatar what was coming... )
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_lwocmL9dQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_lwocmL9dQ[/ame]
Yes many players after him took technical ability to levels way beyond what he started and sure, there are people that have taken music theory to levels that probably leave him scratching his head in confusion....But, they in my opinion...still can't touch him.
Someone mentioned Paul Gilbert as the master of arpeggios? While I love Paul and his playing I gotta give that title to Frank!
Here he is with Chick Corea... SMOKIN'!!
