I hate car salesman. They add no value and irritate the shit out of me.
So Mama tells me her Mercedes is 4 years old and she wants the new body style Mercedes. OK...lets go get you one....so we load up and go to the Mercedes dealer.
Now of course the minute you pull up 4 or 5 of them worthless fuckers come storming out of the dealership. They are so disingenuous I want to puke....I am rude as fuck to them :)
Now Mama and I are the worlds fastest car buyers....she always drives a Mercedes...so she just finds the color/model she wants and we buy it....there is no "haggling price" at Mercedes anyway...so the sticker is the price....We don't finance...nothing...just give me that one and here is the check.....Just shut the fuck up and give Mama the keys to this one and that one so she can decide and I can go home.....fairly simple.....
So we get to the dealership....here come the worthless shitheads....Mama instantly zooms in on this dark gray 2010 E350....she always has had a black Mercedes...but she really likes this one.....so this bottom dwelling fart sucker starts his "sales bullshit" and Mama tells him to save it....he goes gets the keys....Mama doesn't even test drive it...she sits in it...ask me how she looks...I say great....she tells Turd Blossom she will take that one....So we go into the dealership...and shit for brains goes to get the "sheet"...he comes back and starts going over the price of shit.....has $1600 for "paint protection" and $400 for "smart dots".....eat shit and die you yellow tooth moron.....The he wants her to sign "paperwork"...bunch of marketing horseshit wanting your email address and giving them the right to "share" your private purchase info with their marketing partners etc....I tell him to fuck himself and eat shit on the way to hell....So we go to the "Finance Manager"...same shit....I tell him to suck my ass also.....so he decides this is a "cash transaction" that they dont need all that bullshit.....I think cuz he knew I was serious about him sucking my ripped up filthy BVD's.....and he kept looking at the bulge on my right hip and knew it wasnt a PDA :) I dont know why but some folks are intimidated by Texans carrying concealed guns....oh well story for another day.....but this guy clearly was nervous.....
So Mama writes him the check..we tell them we will be back this morning around 11am to pick it up.....
So the whole thing should have taken 5 minutes turned into 45 minutes of absolute wasted worthless bullshit marketing/sales horseshit.
Why do I share all this? Cuz I want all you boys and girls to kick a car salesman in the man vagina today.....I hate car salesman....worthless pricks.

I feel your pain. Our last car purchase from a dealer took all of 30 minutes, with me saying, "No." "No, thank you." and "Nope." about 50 times. They really don't get it. That is partly why 3 out of our 4 DD's are wreck and rebuilds and, in my entire life, I have only purchased one new vehicle from a dealer. Maybe next time (if there is one) I'll strap on my Glock and see what happens...

Out there a ranch style home then was like 160k on a 1/4 acre lot and that was cheap! Here I paid 50k for a 3 story victorian on two lots @ nearly 1 acre in the city. About 1500.00 per acre or so for the old 147 acre once over grown farm. Cleared about 7acres for the house and shop there which imediately gained property value putting a home and shop in there.

I hear ya. I vowed to never deal with stealerships if I can help it. Looks like the time is approaching when I can't help it as I'm going to be getting a van soon for the family. I've learned the hard way to NEVER do a trade in. Talk about an ass raping and then they turn around and sell it for at least 4-5 times the amount they gave you for it.

When I am in the market for a new car, I will give you a call so you can assist me at the the dealership! Haha!

That's sounds like highly marked up property value. I would never pay that for over grown ground with no dwelling on it and all woods. Especially if I could see another house from the ground. Our farm prolly has'nt been a farm for more than 60 years. We also have a monthly income from the gas wells we have. In about 10 more years we're gonna log it out. Well if the economy changes anyway we will. Right now we're just sitting on everthing to see what's going to happen in the next 3 years of the Obamanation they call Potus.. I do have a small 4 acre residential cut I inherited but there's no dwelling on that portion. My uncle lives on and owns the other 7 acres with a family home there built by my 2 times great grandfather. Property there has been in my family on my dads side for over 100 years.

Americans use to live that way. They would save up and pay cash for things. It is how I live, if I dont have the cash I dont buy it.. Well on everything except house and some of the cars. The national average for length of time for home ownership is/was about 7 years. So a variable rate mortgage is not that far fetched for those whom don't plan to spend 20,30+ years in any one home. In which case a variable rate mortgage makes sense because they are usually sub-prime before the term limits and they adjust higher. Taking on a variable rate mortgage if you plan to own any one property longer than the rate limits is just idiotic. A locked in rate is nearly always higher than the prime rate, but stays the same durring volitile times where the prime may jump/skyrocket.. Long & short, If someone plans to stay to in a home for the full 20-30+ years than a locked in rate is the way to go. If not, a variable rate is great if you plan to bail before the term limits..

I hate car salesmen too.....not the actual person but the job they have to do. Had one last week telling me that the way to look at the trade in value of my car was to lop it in together with the price of their truck and my final payment would tell me if I was getting a good deal or not. Seriously, does anyone buy that shit?

My parents are trading in there 2008 Dodge Ram Quad Cab Hemi 4x4 loaded out AND 2007 Harley Davidson Valued at $16,500 or so.... On a 2009 or 2010 Chevy... FUCKING MALIBU BASE MODEL!!!!! WTF, really? Shit, why don't I go trade my Corvette in on a 99 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 LT, witch is not a bad idea really...

I don't mind BSing with car salesmen but what really makes me mad is when they don't know anything about the car they're trying to sell me.
I called one of them on it. He told me 300C SRT8 is AWD, I said that it's not he insisted that it is so I told him I would make him a deal - if it is AWD, I will buy it, if it's not he will give me the car. He never came back from the showroom to talk to me :)

Procedure if you will. Its ironic though, cause thats the easiest sale that guy will ever get too. Just write the paperwork up let you leave and take the commission. The sales people just get so ingrained with their bs its hard for them to actually just act normal and be real people for a minute.

Damn Sarge, you got a longer fuse than I do. Those fucks gave me a run around last fall when I was trying to buy a grand prix. Telling me there's a GT with 100k on it across town. Turns out it had 140k on it and it made right turns on it's own. I told him, there's no way in fuck I am interested in this car, that reeks of smoke among plenty of other things etc. I don't quite have the cash flow u do, but I still paid cash for a similar, MUCH cleaner one.

i hate car lots just for that same shit. this past weekend i had the wife in the car and showed her what i do for fun and pulled in on a lot and just drove around the lot and watched them fallow to see if we get out to look. we got a good laffe out of it and drove off.

The only dealer that didn't give me the run around was the dealer that sold me the GTO I have now. First car I have ever financed. When they ran my credit report, they couldn't believe my score as my credit is clean. I testdrove the car and took it home the next day. Never gave me a problem. Too bad they closed. The other dealership that tried to sell me a damaged GTO didn't want to refund my deposit. I got it anyway and the salesmen on that lot were eyeing my GTO as if they wanted me to trade it in when I drove it down to pick up my deposit. I also enjoy driving past dealerships and seeing the salesmen eye the car like they are licking their chops. Not for sale bud.

My first experience with a dealership went something like this: Back when I was a second year law student, I received an invitation in the mail to go test drive the new (for then) Volvo 940. At the time, I was driving an '81 Plymouth Reliant - which is about as far from cool as you can get. I always liked Volvos, and still do, so I picked up my friend and we tripped to the nearest dealership about an hour away.

To say that we were ignored at the dealership is an understatement. After roaming the lot and showroom floor, I finally approached a salesperson with my test drive offer. He huffed a bit, said he had to check with the manager, and then disappeared. He came back, said that a tech would bring a car around for us, and then said, "People who drive Volvos don't lika a lot of miles on their cars, so don't go far."

He handed over the keys, not even bothering to go with us. Well, after the treatment we received we went for a nice long ride and made sure to test acceleration, handling and braking limits as it was the first ABS equipped car we had ever driven. We pulled back into the dealership, the salesman came out to retrieve the keys and then started to walk away.

I said, "Excuse me, I have some questions." And then asked if it had independent rear suspension, how the ABS worked and some other stuff. After a couple of questions, he interupts me and says out of the blue, "May I ask what you do?" I replied that I was a second year law student and that I worked for a firm in Wellsboro. His business card came out of his pocket so fast I saw smoke!

Have not returned to that dealership once in the twenty years since.

I think it's find to finance a house, not many people can pay cash for a big item. But do believe you should put 20% down. But I also think it's find to finance a car, if you put half down... I never financed a car though.

Most people either have to rent a room or cheap ass place and save up. A personal favorite and I think is a great idea. Join the Military and live in the barracks while you save for a nice fat down payment. Then there's live with your mom till your about 23 and save.

I bought my TA from a dealership and he wanted to charge me 600 bucks for and admin fee ,did that dance so I wrote him a cheque for 600 less than he wanted and walked away told him I was waiting for 5 minutes outside if he didn't come out within 5 minutes I would leave and put a stop payment on the cheque funny part was they didn't take off the admin fee they reduced the price of the car by 600 so I ripped up the cheque and wrote another one for 600 less telling them that I wouldn't pay the admin fee so the invoice showed no admin fee. I don't like accountants that think they are worth 600 a minute.

As for paying cash I agree I pay cash but I've been working for a few years. What do you think a 20 year old does to get a car to go to work steal it!!! I think not you have to start somewhere.

So we get to the dealership....here come the worthless shitheads....Mama instantly zooms in on this dark gray 2010 E350....she always has had a black Mercedes...but she really likes this one.....so this bottom dwelling fart sucker starts his "sales bullshit" and Mama tells him to save it....he goes gets the keys....Mama doesn't even test drive it...she sits in it...ask me how she looks...I say great....she tells Turd Blossom she will take that one....So we go into the dealership...and shit for brains goes to get the "sheet"...he comes back and starts going over the price of shit.....has $1600 for "paint protection" and $400 for "smart dots".....eat shit and die you yellow tooth moron.....The he wants her to sign "paperwork"...bunch of marketing horseshit wanting your email address and giving them the right to "share" your private purchase info with their marketing partners etc....I tell him to fuck himself and eat shit on the way to hell....So we go to the "Finance Manager"...same shit....I tell him to suck my ass also.....so he decides this is a "cash transaction" that they dont need all that bullshit.....I think cuz he knew I was serious about him sucking my ripped up filthy BVD's.....and he kept looking at the bulge on my right hip and knew it wasnt a PDA :) I dont know why but some folks are intimidated by Texans carrying concealed guns....oh well story for another day.....but this guy clearly was nervous.....
So Mama writes him the check..we tell them we will be back this morning around 11am to pick it up.....
So the whole thing should have taken 5 minutes turned into 45 minutes of absolute wasted worthless bullshit marketing/sales horseshit.
Why do I share all this? Cuz I want all you boys and girls to kick a car salesman in the man vagina today.....I hate car salesman....worthless pricks.

When my wife (and I) bought a used Malibu from the dealership I work at as a Auto Service Tech, they tried to sell us the extended warranty and the tire protection plan. I said "Aahhh...no. I work here and I'll just fix it myself for free." Duh.

I get the jist of what you are saying sarge. Pay cash for MOST large items that compound interest so you arent forever in debt. But the reality is, regardless of how hard someone works MOST people cant just go ahead and plunk 20k+ on the table, nevermind 100k+ for a house. My mom owns a 600k house, my dad has a house in nj and one new one in NC. All of them do/did have a 15 yr mortgage. Both parents have like 800? credit rating. Thats awesome though if you can pay cash for a house. By all means do so.

I bought my wife a new Mercedes this past summer for her birthday here in south eastern PA. I never met a salesman like this guy. He was awesome. He auto-crosses his C-230, and used to drag race corvette's. He definitely knew what he was talking about. Then he told me when I go back to the finance person that they will try to sell my protection stuff. He said don't buy it, you'll never use it. He gave me a can of touch up paint and said here I think you can figure it out. I will be buying Mercedes from him for the rest of my life. It's tough to find a salesman like this, but I did and it's worth it. I find out after the deal was complete he is there top salesman, it made sense.
