I fucking love flying. First flight @ 5 years old when I came to the states.
i fear it a lil, but i do it and i dont like freak out while flying. but i do fear plane crashes. i've traveled quite a bit in my time though
i love heights!! It is absolutely beautiful.
and if you do crash or die... at least you can truly FLY first hah

beautiful! dont worry about the height.. you dont even feel it. :D
:hellno:
I am achrophobic. I get weak in the knees and feel :faint:
Notformethanx.
plus if you crash, you might get lucky and have Chesley Sullenberger as your pilot
hate flying, more so the take off than anything else.
Pop a xanax every time i fly
If you look at the stats it's way safer than any other form of transportation. Probably including being a pedestrian. Some drunk will run you over when you're walking or something similar.
^^^^^^^^^^^youd be like FAMOUS!^^^^^^^^^^^^
wut
I don't mind flying, i just hate the lack of leg-room on the planes.
i hate sitting next to fat people, and people that stink. and i've had that happen twice
i just fall asleep listening to some good tunes; never had much trouble with it
even when one of the engines went down on a flight to el paso
what about when kids sitting behind you shake the fuckin shit out of the back of your seat the whole flight, and god forbid you tell the kid to simma down, you are now the mean child hater
hahaha or the kid behind you is sneezing and coughing the whole way, and the other one is hitting the back of your head..
They always have the best peanuts.
i always buy the snack pack
i miss when they actually had lunch or dinner and breakfast for morning flights :( delta food = awesome!
love it, especially when its close to other planes:
taken by yours truely:

thats fuckin precision right there
im partial to continental myself. good service and they have a very reliable record. southwest not so much
Yeah, Continental gave us TWO whole shitty chicken dinners instead of one on our 12 hour flights to and from the U.K. Jet Blue had way more leg room on a smaller plane to and from New York previously though. Continental had a pretty good amount of movies and music. Watched Bullitt and the Italian Job <- had to get ready for England
The only thing I hate about flying is how long it takes to get to 13,500 feet.
ever have to taxi the runway when theres a holdup? that fuckin blows. or that one asshole that has to be late for the flight that holds the whole plane up
I used to be scared of it, but I would now, just no where I want to go I'd fly to. As far as safety compared to cars... sure there are more car wrecks because every idiot out there has one. However I like to be in control of my own fate. That and when I go somewhere I love to drive. I work at home, so when I get a chance to take a long road trip I'm all for it. Not a people person either... I think the people would get to me more than the flying part.
I have no fear of flying.
It's not the fall/flying that hurts you it's the sudden stopage.:splat:
I work around airplanes every day, and as an engineer I am very afraid of flying (takeoff/landing) but I travel a lot for work so I got over it. I'm always a little nervous though.
EDIT: Anyone who isn't a little nervous flying is naive, IMO. Statistically, sure, it's safer than driving....but, "There are more planes in the ocean than cars in the sky."
there are more cars in the ocean than planes
this to makes no sense
I fin hate flying. I can't stand being 8 feet off the ground. I spent all last week in a warehouse in Alabama and I had to run the picker... It took me a few minutes to even get about 3 feet...
Yes I have a fear of flying.. but its more of heights.
I want to be the one doing the flying. I LOVE planes and flying and being in the air. If I could I'd prob be a 747 pilot. I have Microsoft Flight Simulator and a 747-400 add on that is, according to Boeing, more accurate than their pilot training simulator. I have flown that thing all around the world. Not using 100% real life procedure but certainly utilizing both manual and automatic control of the aircraft and managing failures en-route. I have flown coach, first and business class on domestic and international flights. I've been on everything from a little 20 passenger turboprop to a 777-300. Looking to get into some Helo's and private craft as soon as possible.
LOVE to fly. hell i'm more likely to die in my bird than in an airplane
I was on a plane once.... then i jumped out....

but on a side note, a 17hr flight sucked ass.....
Ouch 17 hours? Where did that take you, somewhere in Asia?
My longest was 9 hours straight.
I can hardly stand the 5 plus hours going to PA or NY
I actually love flying but its the crashing, burning, and dying in agony I am not fond of...remember, the cheapest firm always gets the contract, that holds true in almost everything.:seesaw:
from Los Angeles International to Sydney Australia, straight through, plus we got there an hour early, and apparently international flights cant land before 6am or some shit so we circled Sydney for awhile.....
that was a long couple weeks.... flights were....
Sioux Falls sd to Denver Co 2hrs
Denver to LA2hrs
LA to sidney, 17 hrs
sidney to sufers paradise 3 hours
13 days
surfers to brisbane hour and 45
brisbane to honallulu(sp) 12 hour
2 days
Hawaii to La 8 hour
LA to Denver
denver to SF...
I was in PA for an hour once for a connecting flight :)
That was actually a weird ass trip, went from Atlanta to PA, then from PA to Amsterdam (WTF? Further east than we needed to go), then from Amsterdam to Gatwick. Fucking take almost twice as long just waiting in airports.
Most the time we're lucky enough to get a flight straight from Atlanta to Gatwick when we go back.
they do that for efficiency believe it or not. The operate on a Hub and Spoke system with the big planes flying into specific "hubs" where the passengers depart and nearly all get on small planes that go elsewhere. since it's much cheaper to do that then fly a whole bunch of really big half full planes to all of these places. they do the same thing the other way as well. catch the small plane from the spoke to the hub then everyone gets on the big plane to get where they are going.
My first flight (other than before I can remember) I was 22 years old. I was nervous as hell.
It was a flight from Denver to Dallas. That's like a 10 hour drive or something. I was there in 2 hours.
I got over the nervousness as soon as the plane left the ground and I love it now. When I can take a 2 hour flight or a 10 hour drive, I'm taking the flight. No brainer for me.
Yep, I usually go to either Pittsburgh or Philly and then take one of those small planes to Binghamton. I usually have to wait quite a while in PA.
But, there are a lot of routes from either Burbank or LAX that make no sense to me.
Those small planes are the worst!! I really hate those things :yup:
I am afraid of heights too. I don't love flying but don't mind it that much. If the drive is over 8 hrs then I would fly. And when you are tall no seat is comfortable especially when your knees are jammed in the back of the seat in front of you. The first time is the scariest if you don't know what is going to happen. When they have to de-ice the wings several times before you take off that is pretty scary too.
