Sorry - I too thought Ebony was black......
fron an online dictionary:
Main Entry: ebony
Function: adjective
1 : made of or resembling ebony
2 : BLACK, DARK
so once again for the slow people ebony=black
one person or dealer selling a car can say ebony leather (name gm calls it) and another person or dealer can say black... why? beacuse they are the same.
the only dark colors you could get was dark gray or ebony(black) and at the end i think gm killed off dark gray and all you got was ebony(black)
i thought ebony was a brown color and the black was called graphite
ebony=brown
graphite=black
but i dont know
i second that aswell
ebony=brown/tan
graphite=black
Ebony=Brown/Tan
Graphite=BLACK
so GM has changed the EBONY color over the past years?? i doubt it... i have a 2004 Monte Carlo SS with EBONY leather and it is about as black as you can get... go to chevy or pontiac and look at any of the new cars with leather and you will see ebony is black.
you can also find and read the post (on this forum)LS1 differences through the years where it says that the charcoal color (dark gray - also known as graphite) was replaced by ebony(black)
any brown color in a firebird w/ leather was taupe, camel or neutral

O.K. guys this is straight from the Official Pontiac Firebird sales brochure. The Prado leather ebony seats are BLACK. The seats in my 2001 are black and the window sticker says ebony.
how rare is the tan interior on an NBM t-top car?
I had one. I hated it. They always got dirty. Mine was an 01 NBM WS6 6spd w/tan interior.
You guys have no idea what you are talking about.
Graphite is Grey and Ebony is Black. No discussion or debate on this. Read any color option info on our cars. Granted the Graphite is a very dark grey ut it is NOT black
I have a black 02 WS6 my interior is tan leather.
