from what i have heard, is that the older Vipers are not really all that good, now i will not swear to this a all. but i hear to stay away from the older vipers
Keep the TA It is more practical!
The vipers are too expensive to keep up and you can't work on them.
:stupid: send a PM to ViperSniper...he'll give you the L/D on vipers...i think he's gotta a 2000?
ya i really dont know jack about vipers, i just like their styling (2 seater, sidepipes, etc) and their 480 ft lb of torque lol. they are so exotic but i also hear that the 94s have head gasket problems and other things...the car is 26000 with 65k and i wonder how much faster stock for stock it is than f bodies
Here's the deal on '94 Vipers. Let's just say that it is completely stock. The '94's had 400 horsepower from the factory, and ran approximately 12.80's. Here's something you will want to consider.......insurance! I know someone with a Viper, and the insurance is quite a bit more expensive than you are paying now for your Trans Am. Just something to think about. Good luck with your choice!
If you have the money, go with what you truly want more. Just know that upkeep and insurance will cost you more. As for performance, you can go drop a grand into a stock TA and run with that viper. The exotic classification of the car would be nice and you would definatly turn more heads. As long as its not a DD you should be fine.

Both cars are bad a** but with the Viper you will most definitly get more looks. Just remember that it will cost more for just about anything from mods to insurance. I have to admit though that the viper has been my all time favorite car, untill now. I have to say that the new Z06 has taken its place. Good luck in your decision either way.
I was looking at auto trader found a Viper around here at a dealership. Its a 95 with 25,000 miles on it for 32,000 its green. 26,000 seems a little high with 65,000. I think if had had a chance to switch I would do it. You would indeed get alot of attention.
i agree with murder after midnite, a viper will get a thousand times more looks.
i mean our f-bodies are referred to as mullet mobiles.
i saw a green viper convertible around town today, and it was one of the earlier ones
i was really sickened with the PLASTIC side windows?
did i miss something but i think i saw plastic side windows that were connected to the convert. top, GAY AS HELL thats cheezy
I say get the Viper . And then you can tell us why we should keep our T/As ......lol
I've always been a Viper fan and if I could afford the upkeep on the V10 and insurance I would have one in a minute. Instead my poor ass drives a WS6.
Think of it this way...if you don't like attention then don't get the Viper. Park a stock Viper next to a stock WS6 and there isn't a question which car is going to get noticed. It would be like parking a WS6 next to a Geo Metro.
well i jus called the ins company, and since im not 23 yet (only 19) the ins on the car is about 5400 basic and 8500 full coverage per year... i wasnt expecting that comming
the average viper claim is 22k.Quote:

Sorry guys trying to post pix together forget how so here is the link instead. I have both a viper and a WS6 and I will be honest I have not really driven the T/A since I got the Viper. i take it out once a week for like a 5 mile drive to keep it lubricated and start it in the garage for 10 minutes every 3 days but just love driving the Viper and love the attention it gets. checkem out if someone can post the pix here would probably be more helpful.

From a performance standpoint, I don't think that those early Vipers were a whole lot faster than your TA. High 12's to low 13's from what I have read. I've never driven one.
I would go for the Viper. But I am over 25 and that helps the insurance part a LOT. When I was considering a Viper, the insurance not much more than an F-Body at all.
Maintenance is a different matter, though. I would say a T/A is a little easier on that score but I don't know for sure.
nice cars man
Thanks Zboner for popsting the pic. No Cujo look at the differences and decide if the extra $$ is worth it. I love them both but my Viper gets the nod and I am trying to actually sell the T/a now. The Viper is a little more expensive. I mean I needed a new A/c compressor right after I got it and it was like $1200.00 and tires are like $600 each but man it is sweet
A 94 viper is a RWD car that shares the same transmission as an f-body and is faster by a hair, if that. Why would he kill himself in a viper if he hasn't already killed himself in an fbody? :dunno:Quote:

I had a 2001 GTS. In the hands of someone that is not familiar with the Vipers fat torque band, you can get in over your head pretty quickly. Its not the HP, its the torque. It comes on early and stays late. Something like 1/3 of Viper owners have some kind of mishap in the first 3 mos. And dont eeven think about driving it in the rain. Also theres what we Viper owners referred to as the "Viper Tax". Parts are OUTRAGEOUS! Cujo, unless youre making some serious bank, Id wait and get a newer Viper with the ABS and bigger brakes, etc.Quote:

Ae any of you guys keeping up with that GN vs Viper. Everyone talks about 1/4 mile times and thinks that is all there is to horsepower. I still cant belive that a GN could out run a Viper. But, remember you have to learn how to drive a Viper they are a differint beast.
Can't you just be happy with a 00 WS6 dude...seriously you're only 19...i'd kill for a ls1 6 years ago.
GN's are fockin fast...especially when they're modded, not hard to believe at all.Quote:

Shhh, I don't want her to hear, but the only reason I'll ever sell my Camaro is to get a Viper. I remember when my insurance was 260 a month for the Camaro, now itz 65 a month.

exterior the viper is way better, but comfort wise the viper is really basic and basically just made to look good outside and perform. but i wouldnt try to go on a long road trip unless you have a personal massouse
