It would fry at 400 HP.
Mine fried with about 315 :)
Lets say you go all out... get a built level 3 4l60e. Might hold that much.. but if you have 800 hp you have the money to do a built 4l80e conversion.
and that is where the fun is at.
Anyone that is running that much HP(over 400 IMO) is running on borrowed time.
First off, to pull in those upper gears requires horsepower. HP=More stress on the driveline. I was commenting on how the 10 bolts can hold a lot of HP and not break while some break on stock power.
Upper gears in a STOCK tranny arent meant to handle that much HP.
5th gear alone tops out at 181 MPH but I dont think any stock tranny has scene that.
6th at 268 mph.
kinda obvious.
Last time I checked the original poster has an 02 trans am. Totally different setup, I dont see any torque tube under my trans am. As well as no 10 bolt with a 3.42 gear setup on a c5...
Do some research on the internals of a t-56 that was used on the F-BODIES.
LS1 Performance Information > Vehicle Specific > Firebird / WS6
well i was just wondering how fast can i really go with a stock t-56 and where can i get a rebuild and i mean a badass rebuild with good stuff or just get a new -t56 or will a 2007 z06 tranny work with an ls1
get a 14 bolt rear with 4l80e .509cu bbc truck wha bah!!!!
it is amazing how people remember how weight : power ratio play into top speed, but the biggest player they forget about is wind resistence.
read a very good write up drag coef. in an article in motorctclist mag when they backed a guy that got clocked doing 205mph by highway patrol on a 600cc Honda.....impossible even with it its amazing power:weight.
look it man I think you would like it
Stock T56 is stout, the weakest parts in stock form is the clutch, hydraulics, followed closely by the aluminum shift forks.
the stock t-56 is rated at 450ft lbs, if i remember correctly. I've seen a few people stomping out more than that on a stock one.
