Buddy Rich definetly defines "stick control". Just about everything he did (solo and fill wise) was single stroke roll though. No matter. He also defined a part of the "big band" sound that I tried to emulate when I was in stage band back in HS.
Buddy Rich.
Honestly, I'd have to agree and say Lars isn't the best drummer, but hes one of in my opinion. Hes getting a little old now and Metallica isn't what it used to be, thats for sure, but it doesn't get any better than the shit they came out with in the 80s. Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets were two of the best albums ever.
I think John Dalmayan (SOAD) is pretty fucking good as well as Travis Barker and even Joey Jordison. Granted, TB and JJ aren't near even Neil Peart. I'm not gonna lie though, I'm definately no Neil Peart fan. I think hes over rated nowadays. Theres better better drummers for sure.
Bonham
But those guys from GODSMACK put on a good dual drum solo.
i know the drumm from slipknot is pretty good.

dont know who that guy is ... but that has to be hell on the arms ...
His name is Yoshiki.
There's a ton of good drummers out there but,
My votes go to: Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, and the man Ron Bushy (Iron Butterfly)
there are some guys in philly that use trash cans, pots and pans, and shit they... borrowed... for a drum set... they are amazing and are by far the best drumming/drummers i have ever heard... and they probably make more damn money than i do!!!
danny carey-tool

terry bozio is good but im not a fan even though he helped write the newest korn album but he tried to fuck them over when it came down to money
