Stock 10 bolt? If so, a weeping pinion seal is a factory installed option. A few guys have replaced the seal only to have them start weeping again within a short period of time. If it's not dripping on the floor, you may just want to run it.
Very cool!
took mine back to SLP and took some pics. Religious experience for the car i'm sure lol.
lets see um
bad ass
started on my FRC's. got em' notched out and fitted. Priming now.
did 2 medium coats of adhesive, then Primer 1st coat light, 2 med. now I've wet sanded (600 grit). I still see some pin holes so I'm shooting another med coat of primer to see if the fill in. The I'll do another wet sand.
If this turns out well I may have to redo my intake again. (I didn't wet sand it)
washed car
vacuumed car
wiped entire interior down with meguires detail wipes
touched up a few scratches with scratch repair
polished car and rims
waxed entire car
all of this was done at a friends garage while it was sunny and hot then it poured rain. But him being a good friend he let my TA stay in the garage while his olds 442 sit in the rain. We are both in the car show tomorrow. with me luck!
ran it on some portable dyno today at the car show. 301hp 426tq. Not sure whats going on there? Average was 246hp 365tq. With an auto with 3200 stall and 2.73 gears. Never been on a dyno but was expecting a bit more. At least 320 or 330 hp. Oh well. Time for the turbo to get underway lol
Yea its a factory 10 bolt with an Eaton posi and 410 gears, just weeping a little, thats the 3rd rear end to be in the car-according to the previose owner, appears to be an earlier model judging from the e-brake brackets, i could be wrong tho! i love the blue car pics above and the red one is sweet too.
Drove to a few local 4th parades today, and ordered my first mods from Speed Inc...an SLP airbox with their high flow filter.
Yesterday met up with a friend of a friend who has a 2000 WS6, took the following photos...

Spent the whole weekend in Pigeon Forge, TN cruisin around t-topless :D
Sorry I was in Long Island blowing shit up
Yeah, no body had any beads, lol ;p
hell, I got beads if that's all it takes..
Who needs beads?
Got a service engine light
Bought a scanner
Found a code p1416 (sencond time in four years, so I'm not crying)
Have two new ones in my basement I bought to stock up a while ago.
Now just trying to get it off the line. (soaking in WD-40) buying PB blaster later when the wife gets home.
Haha I can supply beads! But anyways, I am thinking of getting this aftermarket hood made by VFN, the wsq hood and selling my GM ws6 hood. What do you guys think? This is the hood:

looks fuckin scary
Looks sick.
I hopefully will be getting that hood in a month or two.
Are the "ducts" functional???
threw on the spare set of 19" hp's i had to clean up the black ones
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/u...E/IMAG0676.jpg
^^^^:yup:
As for the hood it seems kinda like a WS6/Termi mix. kinda weird in my opinion
sold my car again didnt enjoy it the way it was to be enjoyed.I will miss my bird.
found a video of that hood....I like....

VHT'ed all the marker lamps, 3rd brake light, turn signals, and reverse lights. Replaced all bulbs mentioned except the turn signals with ST versions. Then I'm now in the process of finishing the "Turtle Wax Black Box." I'll post pics once it's all done. Hope it turns out alright :P
you can get $600-$800 easily
what are the specs on your lowering equipment
+1 They do look sharp.
Wish I could tell ya man, car came like that off the dealership. All I do know is the shocks/struts are still the stock (decarbon?) orange ones. I'm assuming the springs were cut, but how much I couldn't tell ya. I love the ride height though. Does it look alright? Or when I finally get the actual set up should I go lower or higher?
Appreciate it man, thank you.
looks good, curious how much the VHT dimmed your lights? have any pix with lights on?, love the look especially on black
Yeah It looks pretty sick. I contemplated doing the tail lights and/or fogs too but I like the fog lights... and the tails lol. I didn't want a stereotypical murdered out car, just wanted to get rid of the orange/red markers mainly because they ruined the flow. The 3rd brake light looks better black imo for the wing and the reverse... well that was a toss up. Idc either way :P.
I don't have any picturs with the lights on atm but I can take some tonight so you can see. I've never seen the reverse lights or 3rd brake light in person but I asked buddies and they said they show up fine. The turn signals on the other hand look MEAN. I mean usually they were that orange color but now it's a deep deep red and only in the center kind of. A co-worker of mine after the closing shift saw me hit my lights and his exact words were "Dude that looks evil." lol.
I finally got my car back from my mechanic, had a vacuum leak fixed that I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Also, insurance fixed my shifter because the tow truck driver messed it up, although I was kinda hoping the transmission would have been screwed up so I could get a performance built one and the insurance would basically pay for it . Then I washed my car, it had greasy finger prints all over it. I'll post up pictures later. I still need to figure out where this weird electrical whine like noise is coming from, it only happens when I slightly put my foot on the gas, if I lay off it stops and if I push more it stops. It's kinda weird.
where was the leak?
Also anybody know that if you polish the clear coat on FRC's will the vinyl lettering still stick to the paint? I'm almost done clearing them and not sure if I should polish or leave alone.
which gaskets?
Finally got her back on the road after another round of mods and 1-2 weeks of riding my ZX10r to and from work in 95+ humid weather and usually rain; LS6 intake, Catch Can mod (both painted gunmetal silver), PCV redone, UMI 3-point SFC, UMI Adj. Torque arm with DSL, an updated Frost Tune, Updated Knock sensors, repaced the fragile OPSU my fat fingers broke.....I think that's it
The intake gasket. Here's some pictures of it washed, sorry it is really sunny.

Purchased an AC Delco battery. The ugly green Interstate finally crapped out on me.
Believe someone wanted to see what it looked like with the lights on in a different thread so, just postin' these :).

Got my SLP lid and hi flow filter from Speed Inc today. Got it all installed, and wow...I could really tell a difference. Great mod for a little over a $100 (with the filter and shipping.) Also put a white "Trans Am" and bird logo on my rear panel...looks really nice with the arctic white paint. Coming soon, blue blackbird stripes.
i didn't bother with any kind of fancy filter with my lid. just keep a clean one in there and it should be almost the same. I would recommend going to home depot and getting fernco coupling in place of the factory accordion bellows. cheaper than the SLP 60 dollar job and gets the same thing done.
It was 20 bucks as an add on to the lid...I was going to have to get a new one soon anyway so it was a no brainer. Is there much advantage to the coupling?
SLP claims 6hp for their smooth bellows. I paid less than 6 bucks for the coupling at home depot. so under 1 dollar per hp.... heck even if it's only 2hp its a better value than most upgrades. Might need to cut it and work it to make it hold right since it's obviously not made for it. Works great on my car because i have solid mounts so the engine physically can't move. no need for a flexible middle lol.
Alright, I'll look into it. Is there a specific diameter I am after?
Just got back from Virginia Beach and went out and started her up. She sounds soooo much better than my dad's Audi A6...
If you guys have a get together soon and its not too far east of Indianapolis, let me know. Its about a 2 hour drive for me.
Put the mirrors on the hood....these have been collecting dust for almost two years in my garage. Look awesome, now I just need an engine installed so the mirrors aren't reflecting the ground

Wish i could Jeff, I have to work all day Saturday.
Me and my hubby went to DQ for a frozen sweet treat, then off to conquer some TN backroads. WS6+curvy mountain roads= huge ass grin on my face :D
Wrapped up Motor mounts, Headers, CAI, ORY and AIR Delete. Hopefully finishing up the Cat Back soon.
Fixed my leaking differential and filled it up.
Got my tires today, Front - 165/80/15 Rear - Mickey Thompson ET Street 275/50/15

Installed the Elite Engineering catch can I ordered from KY Speed:

Played with the Mazda rental pretending it was my T/A. Thank god it has a slap stick and can hit in excess of 150. Not so 'Thank god'.. it gets the same mileage as my T/A with only 4 cylinders.
Hey.. I guess we can call LS cars 'economy cars' now since that's what they list an '11 Mazda3 as?
On topic..
Finally got Fed Ex tracking to find my WS6 stick. I'll give them the benefit of it being prepped to ship on a sunday. Also hammering out details for new filler panel decals on my bird to match my new old OEM stock Sport Gold door emblems.
Damn miracle that I found some, another that the local dealership was able to track a set down and have them drop shipped to the body shop. o_O
I understand about the drive. We did have Basham drive up from Southern IN, it took him a bit under 3 to get to Indy. Also had BlackTAWS6, he is from Palitine IL, just over the border.
With a 6 speed! They made some like that.
I had my car detailed Saturday at a local car wash, somehow they got the calipers shiny and silver again.
For my '68 Le Mans, I tested/painted a Pontiac hood tach, to install this week.
maybe i picked up a 1999 Formula, 6spd, hardtop and then again, maybe i didn't...:wall:
I got my FRC's done finally. Put the lettering on last night. Thx Afterthoughts Auto.
I've letting them sit over night to make sure they stick before I throw them under the hood. I did have one small issue. On the passenger side I guess I didn't cut enough of the FRC like others have done and the strips that were sent didn't go all the way to the back of the cover. I'm short by 3". Once installed you can't see them easy, but I know it's there (well now so those everyone else :sillyme:)
I also got my new shift knob installed and my new etched fuse box covers (emblem pros) are on the way. :woo:
I'll post pics after install.
Watched some videos with the wife on some guys scaring people with a train horn on their Scion. That got me looking up train horns for the T/A. Wife then said, "I think the truck air horn you have on the T/A is loud enough." I doubted her and we had a friendly argument, so we went outside to test it. I flipped the switch to the air compressor for the horn, waited 2 minutes, and let the wife hit the horn while I stood in front of the car. GOD DAMN...I never realized how loud that thing is...I don't think I need a replacement

Looks good! All stock?
so what are the plans for it?
Loaded my WS6 on a trailer to take it the garage to have the transmission rebuilt. After loading it I noticed a nice sized fluid leak where it was parked. Looked like oil. Not good.
I lent my WS6 to my dad today, so I could take his Buick in to work and fix it. First time he's driven a stick shift in 15 years or more, I'm sure. He said he was gonna go pick up chicks
Loaded it in the trailer so we can head to the track this weekend.
Scott, if your question is directed to me, I plan to give it a little "sswt00ss" treatment and then try to flip it. it needs a few little items, but it's a very solid car. honestly, i'd love to keep it, put a TA hatch on it and then the modified spoiler i worked on thats up above the garage. no matter what it will stay stock except for maybe a hurst shifter and catback.
Yeah I was. Nice looking ride
