radar detectors... worth it? do they really work?

I had no prob with my Cobra for the last 3 yrs. I read this thread and no it goes tits up and gives a shit load of false signals or doesn't read at all. I drove by one of those stationary speed traps that show everyone your speed and it didn't go off.

For the stationary speed monitor. Possibly a newer radar band than you rd picks up? Or did you notice the two rubber lines going across the road to send it info? IDK but check out this site for loads if info. Might help. :thumbup:

No strips....I live in country poor ass town. Only has 4 cops. They cut fireworks this yr to save 20k on the budget.

Things are bad up here as well.

They are illegal in VA

and washington DC

usually those speed monitors are Ka band here

No, you can't do much here and get away with it, i've seen k, ka band, laser, helicopters, airplanes. Everything but roadside cameras, which they do have, but they can't ticket you, those are for "traffic control"...yea right

Radar detectors are great but you can't depend on them. Although My detector works great and has saved me countless times, I just got nailed. Cop did not have his detector on and he turned it on just as I was approaching. I had zero reaction time.

I plan on fighting it... We'll see what happens.

I'm curious what part of that you are fighting.....

just got a V1 about 6 mos ago. I would buy this again. I leave it on highway mode. love the arrows.
