just ordered some kook headers with coating and kook ory. ill post pics and a vid when i get them on with a hooker catback
he said ory so im gonna assume no cats.
He also said "hooker catback". Kind of contradicting.
i still say i have a magnaflow catback even though i dont have any cats. itd sound weird to say my "magnaflow off road y back" system. haha
They list it as a hooker cat back i have the same thing!!
I suppose I'll post my recent findings:
Headers: Hooker Super Comp Ceramic Coated LT's
Y-Pipe: Hooker ORY
Exhaust: SLP Loudmouth I
Extremely loud, you will scare everyone even with normal everyday driving. Gets raspy at around 2200 RPM with light normal driving. Get ready for Nascar at WOT and I will tell you it does sound incredible when you are on the gas pedal.
New setup
Headers: Hooker Super Comp Ceramic Coated LT's
Y-Pipe: Catted Hooker ORY w/ High Flow ebay cats.
Exhaust: SLP Loudmouth I
Much quieter at idle, and normal driving. Possibly a little deeper at low RPM. The rasp has been completely eliminated from the system because of the catted Y-Pipe. The nasty 2200 RPM one that most Loudmouth users that have tried an ORY with a LM1 or LM2 know what I'm talking about. Interior resonance has gone down and my change in my cup holder won't rattle as much at certain RPM's anymore. Still gets loud at WOT but definitely has a beautiful refined tone with the cats on. Definitely recommend this setup versus the first one unless you don't care about rasp. Don't get me wrong though, it's loud when you want it to be loud, and still is in the mid RPM range.
Hope this helps clear up a lot of the Loudmouth questions in regards to being raspy/too loud. I highly recommend this setup ONLY with cats, otherwise do what the other more knowledgeable people than myself said to do already: get a borlamouth, dynomouth, or a different catback system if you are sticking with an ORY.
has anyone tried or heard about GMMG exhaust? fill me in on anything you know about it cause im thinking about getting it! im looking for the noise so im not worried about how loud it will be i already have long tube headers and an ory pipe too! but i definitly dont want my car to sound like crap either you know how some exhaust can reck the sound of a car!
i got a gmmg on the way, it will be my second one
some people say it gets a little raspy without cats so im doing high flow cats. never got around to headers on my od camaro
i loved the sound, its got a real nice growl to it
just noticed your in ft myers, if you ever come around my area you could hear and see the system after i get it. headers still need to be ordered though
Lt's, ory, borla xr-1, all in 3 inches, warm start, revved to about 3500rpms

^^ What brand of LTs and ORY are you running??....sounds great!
Headers: Pacesetter Long Tubes
Y/X/H-pipe: Texas Speed Catted Y
Catback: SLP Loudmouth 1
This really is my new favorite set up. Before the install I was alittle worried that it was going to be too loud but to my surprise its perfect. On a cold start its pretty loud, but nothing crazy. The idle is perfect with a nice medium tone. Under normal driving conditions the car has a nice deep tone. With alittle gas the car roars like a lion. Oh I almost forgot. Wide open throttle is just down right nasty.:worship:
here is my contribution...
pacesetter LT's, and ory with a little resonator dumped before the axel

So, do all the y pipe and/or cat setups cost you alot of your ground clearance. It seems in all the pictures that the exhaust sits MUCH closer to the ground. I'm concerned that I will rip the exhaust off my car.......
I've never hit anything with my catless Kooks Y-pipe. You'll definitely loose a little clearance going from a stock flat pipe to a round pipe. And actually the Kooks pipe I have has a short section that is flat. Its not really flat like the stock one.
Here's a pic of my ground clearance at the lowest point.

Damn Cutlass, I have less clearance than you. :nilly:
I'll take a pic and post it later.
I have about the same as Cutlass my with Kooks set-up.
