For example, I've done jobs that would normally be sold at 5.0 labor hours, those 5.0 hrs being extremely fair, 5 hrs that you basically just break even on, and gotten paid 1.7 hrs on them. Now over the course of an 8 hr day. Do the math on that. Plenty of mechanics dont get a 40 hr paycheck if they work in shops without 40 hr guarantee. Do you have any idea how much that sucks? Worse is when they ask you to stay late after you didnt make at least 8 hrs for the day. Staying late when you are at 6 hrs is enough to get a tech to wanna kill

Yep. Extreme NFG. Those are the guys who say FML.

Thats why i'd never take my car to a dealer. I feel bad how techs are paid nearly nothing and that could ultimately result in them rushing through something.

i never even knew that is how the techs are paid...

I remember when our local Ford garage went to flat rate and the guys were getting like half what they made before.

It's actually:

The tenses are cumbersome because that was a small part from the translation paragraph of our first exam, up to which we hadn't learned any future/perfect/imperfect tenses, etc.

I don't have to explain to them why they aren't getting paid what they thought they would. The insurance company does that. It just sucks to be the one who has to look at every nick and scratch so they don't have to pay on it :shrug:

That is one of the great things about Latin: if you have a large English vocabulary (I like to think I do), even if you completely forget the definition of a Latin word, due to the fact that most of the English language is derived from Latin, you can just sound it out in your head until you think of a similar English word, and most of the times it's correct :lol:

Example (I don't forget the ones as simple as this, but just for explanatory purposes):

Question - Translate "Scribimus"

"Well the 'mus' ending indicates it's a 1st person plural verb, so scribi... scrib... scrib... scrib... Scribe! Writing! It's the verb 'to write'!!"

Answer - Translation "We write"

But if you haven't studied and rely purely on that strategy to translate, you'll take a long ass time to finish the exam :lol:

Yep. Sounds like when someone returns their car off lease and when they get the bill from the bank for the repairs made to that car, the person complains. Everyone wants to pinch pennies but they don't read the fine print.
