it dont look too bad to me...
base firebird, come on now. who are you trying to fool: yourself or the rest of us?
you can see on the doors it says "Trans Am". coupled with the side skirts, rear bumper. Sure the front bumper has been modified over the normal TA's, but it adds up to it not being a base model firebird.
 Heritage and pride doesn't really matter in a scenario like this, in the end, it's just a car. To get to the point, even though the 5th gen is a better engineered car than it's predecessors by a longshot when it comes to suspension, chassis, interior etc., I still feel as if it's the absolute worst pony car ever produced by GM. It's terrible looking, too heavy, and the interior layout and quality really lack when compared to it's current competitors, doesn't really perform that great for what it is either, which is mostly due to it's weight. To add, while the interior does consist of more innovative and useful features than the previous generations, the overall quality of the materials used aren't really a whole lot better.
There should not be another Trans Am because it's going to come out as another lame retro remake, just like the Camaro. I don't understand why people want to see Pontiac come back, it won't be the same company it was before. Just let it die.
or it will be the same company as before and die again. G5s, g6s, suvs, etc.
Highlighted the key parts of your paragraphs for emphasis.
Here is where we're going to go extinct and get regulated out of existence if we don't watch our back. The survival of our hobby is about just that- survival. IMO, the 80's IROC Camaros were hideous. But guess what? They lead to the late 90's-00's versions that were, IMO beautiful. What if a group of people had decided in 1997 that the WS6 was ugly and that it should not be produced any more? We would've never seen the 98-2002's.
Add to that logic the fact that we have political groups actively seeking to destroy our hobby and take muscle cars off of the road. Including yours. We need all of the pony cars that we can get- we need them on the road, we need them in production. Whether they're ugly, heavy, whatever. They are still an asset to OUR side- to OUR hobby. At least their existence and popularity helps to ensure that future generations will have a chance to drive the kind of cars that we love so much. At least the Ford/Chevy brands can exist to compete with eachother...at least the brands can legally exist so that they can be aesthetical overhaulled. That's way, way easier for us to make happen than the repeal of a legislative ban that is supported by popular opinion.

Based on the sales numbers, few did like the 98-02 cars.
...his words...
he said base model. to me the base model is a v6 firebird. if he had said a TA, i would not have replied in the form i did.
a TA is an upgrade from the v8 formula, which is a direct upgrade from the v6 firebird.
Spaz gets it!
If Pontiac came back, and built a 5th gen Firebird/Trans Am, and did a 67/68 nose, would that be better than the current conversion kits out there? I ask since no one likes the "Bandit" nose. I, myself, would rather have a 5th-gen Firehawk conversion than the
G8 "Firehawk".
before a much rarer model yes... also like you said, that car wasn't bad,
base model trans am.
doi
no a base model trans am is a trans am with out all the extra goodies like bigger wheels, ramair, better suspension, gearing, etc. is it really that hard of a concept to grasp? it's not like you can have a WS6/Firehawk V6 firebird people c'mon...:toetap:
Justin...
HE DID NOT SAY BASE TRANS AM...holy crap!!! :slap:
i quoted exactly what he said. a base model firebird is infact the v6 model. END OF DISCUSSION
now, back on topic...
Not every 3800 f-body is considered a base car..;) Especially if the 3800 car has more options than a "base" ls1 car.. No thread jack.. That's just how it really is..
i know you never said "firebird". i never said you did...you did say base model. base model is a firebird. there is not such thing as a base TA. it's a trim package order option, (an RPO code), an option selected in addition to a base model firebird to upgrade it to a TA.
why is this so hard for you to grasp? are you really this challenged, mentally dense, or do you simply lack the knowledge? what exactly? help us all to understand...herp derp...
your emocons really show your age. so yeah, its shows what type of person we're dealing with here. so i highly suspect what multiple people have said in addition to what i have, will ever sink in.
im done dealing with you, but no doubt you will feel the need for the last word to justify whatever it is you feel you need to, so go ahead. it should be a good 'informative' read.
as i said before...back on topic please.
