Got the new tires put on yesterday. Adjusted the pinion angle of the rear, the best I could anyway. Rechecked all bolts and nuts from the install.
Torx Plus bits showed up today (finally). Now, I need to know if the transmission requires the torx plus bits or sockets? I thought I was told sockets and that is what I ordered... I received bits.
I was informed that the bellhousing to transmission bolts are torx plus.
I may have to pull out the service manual and see what it shows. I'll post in our Eastern Members drag thread as those guys have had their transmissions in and out about a dozen times each.
Yes they are torx, and I am almost positive you need the bits.
look like torx to me. I didnt take the bell off though when i did my rebuild and upgrades.
Thanks! The Performabuilts do not include the bell or tailstock -- you simply swap yours over to the new transmission.
Oh so sorry I was thinking about my T56..... I feel like an ass :lmao:
there are days (when stuck in traffic) I wish I had an A4
what a day it was i pulled her out of the storage, wiped her down pulled the t/tops off turned the music up & went for a ride i ended up hooking up with my 3 brothers all Camaros BTW & my cousin a T/A owner,we had a few beers, talked about plans for our fbodys,it was great getting together, this summer we gonna do it BIG in a MAJOR way fbody style
Drove me and my GF out to lunch with a friend of mines Rx7 then drove back home. Uneventful lol.
Changed out driver's window motor.
Put metal gears in the headlight motors, replaced my fog lamp bulbs, greased my adjustable master cyl pivot point with the pedal, greased all the roto joints and poly bushings in the rear suspension. took it for a ride.
Began the transmission swap... finally!
Today I will either drive it or hook the Battery Tender back up.
Just ordered new front fender liners from GM Parts Direct.
tightened a/c idler pulley (with the correct T47 torx socket),installed new a/c belt, and fixed y-pipe banging issue.

Washed her up real quick, drove her to my softball games, then straight to the driveway... I haven't had plates on her since march and I just noticed!! That's just how much I drive her
Pulled the carpet, pressure washed it. Wired the stereo and components with larger wire, bypassing the monsoon amp completely. Added powered internal antenna, then reinstalled carpet, seats, seatbelts, etc.
Yeah, I have paid to have it done about 5 other times on other cars. Decided enough was enough and decided to do it myself. Followed the tutorial and it wasn't too bad. Of course I am pretty inept when it comes to this stuff and guys on that thread said they could do it in 45 minutes. Took me about 4 hours but it works!
New cats installed via GM warranty!
Ordered a new oil pan gasket and drain plug. Hoping that takes care of the weep that I have.
bought some new locking chrome lugs for the wheels. Old ones are rusty looking and non lock. Don't want to come out one morning seeing it on blocks. I would just run them over with a steam roller feet first for that.
had rear tires, or what was left of them changed out from 245-45-17 to kuhmo SPT 285-40-17.
Found out that the tick adj master is back ordered like three weeks.:cuss::brick::(
Cool,mines a A4 performabuilt,guess that's why i didn't know what that was.

Did an oil and filter change. Took it for a spin, and left a little bit of the new tires out on the road.
Set up an appointment today to have the tint redone on the car Wednesday. The original owner put on some cheap crap thats faded and bubbling. Also ordered a new radiator cap since the old ones lettering has all faded off.
Finally got my ECM back from Frost, so with new headers, ORY, Motor Mounts, Tranny Mount, and EGR Delete done, I slapped (carefully) the ECM back in and fired her up, sounds good. I took her for a quick drive after making sure nothing was burning or loose, she feels strong, but I still need to get her to an exhaust shop to tighten up the ORY and get it tucked up a little more. Can't wait :hyper:
Yup. And I have 4 free tires on my car, off a '96? 'vette. Same size as ours, 275/40/17s. Goodyear GS-Cs, they have about 8,000 miles lightly driven on them, he wanted new tires since they were made in 1996. I will have no problem wearing them down the next 20k or so LOL.
I finally ordered my MGW shifter
Walked by mine to get the broom on the other side of the garage.
Installed the new SFI flex plate with ARP bolts, flushed the transmission cooler and lines, and leak tested the tailstock to no avail.
Getting windows tinted as we speak. Pictures coming soon.
Just finished welding the exhaust on the T/A. Now, if it ever stops raining....it's time to do the spring detailing.....
Finally did the wire hide mod. And rewired the amp. I found out that the wire that was in there was 6 inches short of the battery when i rerouted under the wheelwell. Oh, well, at least I already had the wire waiting.
Got the 335s on 17"x13" ZR1s on the car today. I still have a lot of grinding, cutting and BFH'ing till I get the inner fenders safely away from the tires.
Teaser Pics (I'll make a thread when I'm done):

There is something that is so scary just before you start cutting a big ass hole in your car. I swear I heard "Don't Fuck this up!" from someone and I was alone in the garage.
and it makes so much sense to....
Got mine out and drove it to work today. Had lots of fun.

< put insurance on it today.
Still drives like a dream. Only squawked 2nd so far ;)
replaced broken AC vents, shoped online for more parts ;)
Installed the driveshaft, torque arm mount, starter, exhaust bracket, and O2 senders. Pulled the transmission pan to check things over one more time and connected the exhaust again at the rear axle. Have 6 qts. of fluid dumped in the trans, just need to install the auxilliary cooler and I can fire it back up.
I put stripes on it.

My tick just showed up, woo, hoo!
Washed it, put it away in the garage. Picked up my nephew, it was a quick ride for 20 min and it managed to rain. So much for that....
Watched the odometer go over 100k....running great! 26 MPG on a mostly highway tank of gas. Still have the OE clutch/front brakes, but the brakes are now worn out. On the maintenence list.
I put on my new black C6 18" replicas with 275x35x18 BFG KDW's on today. When the weather gets better I will try and get some pics.
Had some tune-up type of repairs done. Then did errands with it. Putting around town, as usual. It will be kind of fun to take it on the highway soon.
Yesterday, I had a lid put on my car. While I was heading home, I passed by a wreck, stopped and helped out the guy that wrecked for an hour or two. I drove him several miles off to take him to his family, but ended up passing his family. Had to turn around and head back. Guy was cool, though, so I didn't mind.
He tried to offer me money, but I didn't take it either. He said I could get in free at a mud bog near by. Probably won't happen because he doesn't work at the entrance booth, but it's the thought that counts. Like I said. He was a pretty cool guy.
got my hood painted and put on all i need now is the grills for it

did a couple of pulls past 130, vids to come
Changed passenger driving light/turn signal.
Well, the site was down over the weekend, but i wasn't. I installed my lts, y, both pacessetter. They have more clearance now then before. I also changed plugs and wires. 55's and 8.5 mm Msd's. I also installed my tick master.
+1 for me in the war against shitty stamped suspension pieces.
