right , but what i mean is if you have a y pipe.. and you have an x pipe.. both have dual cutouts.. with the cutouts open, they will see the same power, right?

Cutout tends to be about equal to a good flowing catback for power.
Dual cutouts are NOT a good idea on most vehicles. Too much of a lose on the low end powerband.
So a good flowing x pipe would generally be better than dual cutouts?

I thought stock exhaust on fbodies were 2 1/2" unless thats just my imagination.
