When my car was finished, I race a c-6 zo6 on the free way from a 70 roll. I'm pretty sure I hit 200+ because the z06's top speed is 195 and he hit his speed limiter. I kept pulling. It was awseome. I go over 150 all the time. Shit I have had my cobalt ss sc going 150. lol

Really, people, get serious.
Most cars - even FAST ones - aren't geared to run much above 150.
Cars with engines and powertrains modified to hit those speeds - aerodynamics seriously are going to hinder you over 120.
Alot of actory cars that are CAPABLE of exceeding that speed are electronically governed.
Aerodynamics comes way more into play than anyone who hasn't really travelled at those speeds realizes, not to mention, your standard street tire and balancing are going to be vibrating uncontrollably above 100.....
126 mph in 10.8 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

Well over 120 (Speedo), guessing around 140.
My 67 has less aerodynamics then any of your LS1 cars, and it was just fine, squirrly and nerve racking, but fine.

I've seen some well put together 67's trap 120+ and then some in the 1//4. Even stock, the old 'maro should be able to cruise at 135+ - but the suspension certainly isn't your friend at those speesds.
Brutal amounts of horsepower can overcome the lack of aero to a point. :)
Your standard fair civic, cavalier, corolla, etc. - the window seals start howling at about 110...front end starts feeling squirrelly.....brakes fade bad....steering wheel gets jittery.... Not that I've ever...um...done that sort of um...thing...be...um...fore. Yeah. :D
I was a passenger at 130 in a one family owned restored 70 hemi challenger. It is a 472 stroker that looks stock. Hold on when you open the second carb in 4th gear. Dynoed 530 at the crank. Fastest driving was around 115 in my 99 dakota r/t. The satellite gets scary above 100(4 wheel drums)ha. :no:

Did you see my mods? I have no idea how fast I was going, but I know it was around the 200 mark. I will use my neighbors gps and get an accurate top speed. I am over 500+ at the tires, and my red line is 7400 rpm. My car is a beast. I have 342 gears. I dont think the drag is an issue. but hey i might be wrong. I will keep you posted once I get my car back together. I am adding a 300 direct port shot. ford 9" and building the 6 speed.Quote:
