Just laughing at you giving advice :yup:
so I went and attempted to bridge those channels on the sail subs. wow... impressive even though i have full range drivers in there now. The extra power really drives some bass enough that the car could use some dynamat. Does it thump down the block? no.. obviously a 6.5 inch woofer isn't going to be setting off car alarms with bass but from the drivers seat the bass has real kick to it. much more than just wiring one channel of the monsoon to one voice coil. Now I can't wait for my kickers to show up..... I'm thinking the next project is to bypass the front and hatch speakers from using the monsoon at all. I'm sure my head units amp is plenty powerful to drive those. Just let the monsoon provide bass until something better comes along.
Looks like we will luck out on the weather. Rain Thurs Fri and sunday... but partly cloudy and 84 on Saturday!
88ยบ and partly cloud with breaks of sun. :D

glad to hear that worked out for ya with the sail speakers dude. at first I thought you were gonna do some crazy shit :lmao:
yes it did work out and in fact solved one problem i was having. My sail subs made the faintest hissing noise whenever they were on. I figured it was just crap speakers. changed the wiring and viola! no more hissing! but the hack job that was done on mounting these really makes me cringe. the drivers side unit has 5 screws.... 3 different types. only 2 originally came with the car. the other 3 look like they were just lying about when he needed them. the 5 were installed at the 12, 2, 5, 7 and 8 oclock positions, if my memory serves me. as a result of nothing from between 8 and 12 i get a nice rattle on hard bass. also in order to put the screws in such funky spots he had to drill holes all around. i'm sure the bass would be tighter if i sealed up all the extra openings since i can really feel the rush of air right now. i'll prob put some foam or rubber in between the new speakers and the panel to quiet and seal things up. wish i had some dynamat on hand to dampen the panel while i'm at it but thats a project for another day when I have the whole thing planned out better.
